S. Mahunka szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 49. (Budapest, 1988)

Remarks: heretofore only some references were known to the occurrence of C. (Z. ) pen nifer Motschulsky, 1845 in Hungary. The foremost was FAUVEL (1897) who mentioned it from Kalocza (= Kalocsa), which was not an error on his part, therefore, he misinterpreted the species, namely, he regarded C. (Z. ) piceus Solsky as a synonym of C. (Z.) pennifer Mötsch. The next data were reported by ROUBAL (1930) from Diószeg and Kassaapáti, which were also published by SZÉKESS Y (1939), HORION (1963) referred to these specimens, that they had been inspected by SMETANA (i. 1. in 1962) and established that they are C. (Z.) pi ceus Solsky. Presumably C. (Z.) pennifer Motschulsky does not occur in Europe west from the Caucasus and Crimea, this establishment was supported by GANGLBAUER (1895), HORION (1963). LOHSE (1964), REITTER (1909) and SZUJECKI (1979). Since I am presently preparing a revision of the close relationship of C. (Z.) pennifer Motschulsky, 1845, it is desirable that type designations be made in order to definitely establish each name. I am indebted to Dr. N. NIKITSKY of the Zoological Museum, University of Moscow, who lent me types important in this investigation. REFERENCES BERNHAUER, M.
