Remarks: Heretofore, it is the only described species of Bothrichara having very roughly plicated elytra. Bothrichara wau sp. n. (Figs 16-18) Body black; head, pronotum, scutellum and ventral surface densely covered with very short, fine decumbent hairs; elytral vestiture uneven: densely pubescent spots alternating with places of sparser pubescence. Pubescence slivery white. Length: 9. 1-12. 5 mm. 3. Head finely and densely punctate; eyes moderately convex, transverse, EI: 16: 11; length ratios of antennái segments: 11:6: 15: 15:12: 12: 11: 11: 10: 9: 21; no modified or transversal segments; segment I about as long as half the distance between antennái sockets. Pronotum densely and finely punctate; punctuation well visible, not entirely covered by fine pubescence; about as long as broad; widest just anterior to the middle, but base nearly as broad; with 4 indistinct impressions. Elytra moderately vconvex, elongate, widest in anterior 1/4; sides widening in a straight line to widest point; punctation coarse and moderately dense; at places, interspaces somewhat broader and slightly raised; pattern of pubescence characteristic: denser pubescence covering basal 1/6 (this surface obliquely bordered posteriorly), forming a preapical spot (reaching side of elytra but not reaching suturai margin and apex); remaining part of elytra with a number of small irregular spots arranged in loose longitudinal rows; space amongst densely pubescent spots with much sparser vestiture; no definitely glabrous and impressed places. Legs long and slender, with sparse, decumbent pubescence; fore and middle tibiae nearly straight, simple; hind tibiae very weakly arched, with a weak but distinct preapical swelling (Fig. 17). Sterna without modification; last abdominal sternite rounded. Aedeagus: Fig. 18. Habitus: Fig. 16. g. Much larger on the average; eyes smaller; EI= 15:20; length ratios of antennái segments VIII to XI: 12:11:10:20; pronotum distinctly transverse, impressed mesally; elytral vestiture usually much more conspicuous; hind tibiae simple.
