Fig. 1. Smicridea jamaicensis Flint. - A: male wings, B: male genitalia, lateral, C: dorsal, D: aedeagus, ventral tunately, the drawing the wing venation is missing from almost all species description of this genus, as is the case for Smicridea jamaicensis Flint, 1968, too. The apical segment of the clasper is curving mesad with tapering apices, also the lobes of the tenth tergite are well separated. The form and the inner structure of the aedeagus are also identical with these of S. jamaicensis Flin, 1968. Based upon the uniform brown fore wing colour and the genital structure I identified these specimens as Smicridea jamaicensis Flint, 1968. Nevertheless, we have to remember BOTOSANEANU's statement about the Smicricea specimens collected in Cuba. He has reported most of them to be S. com ma Banks, saying that practically each locality, or group of localities, has given a slightly different morphological type, so that the speciefic determination remains doubtful (BOTOSANEANU 1979). Even among the specimens collected at Pavon, I have found slight variation in the formation of the tapering apices of clasper, of the lobes of tenth tergite and in the ventral form of the aedeagus.
