Disçidium rounded laterally. Apo­demes comparatively long but epimeral borders only partly developed, epimeres not framed, neither separated from each other. Apodemes mostly transversal, ap. 4 nearly straight. Over the apodemes 2: 5-6, over the sejugal apodemes: 2-3 small round thickenings present (Fig. 13). All epimeral se­tae thin and simple. Anogenital region: All setae thin and simple. The main features are typical for this genus. Legs: Solenidium <f^ arising on a well developed tubercle, ifj on leg IT characteristically bent outwards (Fig. 12). Some setae of legs I (Fig. 15) and II especially setae 1" T and 1" G with only some, but very long cilia. Type material: Holotype (1249-HO 87): Afr. 211: Nigeria, Bauchi State, Yankari game reserve, Wikki, bark of tree, 22. VII. 1978. leg. A. DEMETER . 5 paratypes from the same sample. Holotype and 4 paratypes (1249-PO-87) deposited in the HNHM and 1 paratype in the MHNG. Remarks: the genus Congoppis Balogh, 1983 has been monotypie, with the type: C. deboisse- zoni (Balogh et Mahunka, 1966), described from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The new species is related with the generotype. It is distinguished from the preceding species by the shape of the sensillus and the ratio of the prodorsal setae. Ill
