FOLIA ENTOMOLOGIGA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK XLVIII 1987 p. 105-128 Oribatids from Africa (Acari: Oribatida), V. By S. MAHUNKA (Received December 1, 1986) Abstract: Oribatids from Africa (Acari: Oribatida), V. - Oribatids from Nigeria and Tanzania are listed. 17 species are discussed, of which 8 are new to science. One new subgenus, Passalomonia subgen. n. (family Passalozetidae) is erected. In the course of the investigation of the Oribatid fauna of Africa presently I propose to disclose my results concerning the study of materials deriving from Nigeria. The samples have been collected by Dr. A. DEMETER mammologist of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. His valuable work is also thanked herewith. As supplementary data I also publish a peculiar Hoplophorella species recovered in Tanzania by Dr. T. POCS. I list a total of 17 species, of which 8 are new to science, while a Passalozetes species also represents a new subgenus: Passalomonia subgen. n. The distributional area of several species is well complemented by the new data, e.g. Microtritia tropica Märkel, 1964 and Cryptoplophora abs- condita Grandjean, 1932.
