3 (4) Interlamellar setae very long, much longer, than the lamellar onex. Inner margin of lamellae straight. Angola micropterus Balogh, 1959 4 (3) Interlamellar setae very short, shorter, than the lamellar one. Inner margin of lamellae rounded. Tanzania rugosus sp.n. 5 (2) Between lamellar setae and the outer cuspis of lamellae no deep incision. Ethiopia eckeri Mahunka, 1983 6 (1) Lamellar setae arising on the median part of lamellae, they covered by the plate. Tanzania tanzanicus Mahunka, 1983 Fig. 25. Megazetes rugosus sp.n. - Prodorsum from lateral view Baloghodes gen.n. Diagnosis: Family Carabodidae. Prodorsum with transversal apophysis, interlamellar setae arising on it, directed backwards. Lamellar setae originating on the outer lamellar surface. Dorsosejugal suture absent, a hollow in the dorsosejugal region present. Median part of notogaster convex, posterior part concave. Thirteen pairs of notogastral setae present, four pairs of them in posterolateral position. Epimeral setal formula: 3-1-3-3. Anogenital setal formula: 4-1-2-3. Lyrifissure iad originating far from anal aperture. Posterior median corner of anal plates with a long spine. Type-species: Baloghodes heterotrichosus sp.n. Remarks: The new taxon is well.distinguishable by the number of notogastral setae and by the structure of its notogaster. Thirteen pairs of notogastral setae were heretofore known only in the following genera: Bathocepheus Aoki, 1978, Cplsthocepheus Aoki, 1977 and Parocepheus Aoki, 1977. The new taxon is distinguished from them by the presence of one or two pairs of setae in humeral position and also by the shape of lamellae. I dedicate the new genus to Prof. Dr. J. BALOGH, my teacher, in commemorating the 20th anniversary of our first soil-zoological expedition to South America.
