S. Mahunka szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 47/1-2. (Budapest, 1986)

Measurements: total length of body 5.35 mm, length of head 1.06 mm, width of head 1.11 mm, length of antenna 1.53 mm. Material examined: Mts. Hissar, 1 specimen. There is a Lg also at hand, with similar coloration but apodemal and lateral impressions paler brown. Head, thorax and tip of abdomen on Figs 9-10. Relative length of antennái joints I to IV as 16:29:22:23. Measurements: total length of body 3.0 mm, length of head 0.66 mm, width of head 0.63 mm, length of antenna 0.83 mm. A study of the type specimens of Aradus hissaricus Kiritshenko, 1955 and A. komarowii gave me the impression that their differences are due to differences in the development of wings, being mainly on the thorax. Unfortunately no male specimen of komarowii is known. Their distributional difference is not striking and in the collection there is one brachypterous female specimen answer ing the description of hissaricus . from Turkmenistan (Koyna-Kasyr), the area of komarowii . Consequently I consider the two species conspecific. Aradus anisotomus (Puton, 1879) Body (Fig. 14) brown, with darker and yellow markings. Head and antenna yellowish with the exception of vertex and antennái joint IV, which are blackish brown, and the apex of joint II and the whole joint III, which are yellow. Antenna, legs and tergites with yellowish white granules (or teeth). Legs reddish brown, basis and apex of tibia yellow. Head relatively long (Fig. 15), with prominent, acute antenniferous tubercle, lateral tooth, pre- and postocular tubercle. Antenna strong, long, joint II thickening in the whole length towards apex, joint III cylindrical. Relative length of antennái joint I to IV as 12:45:18:25. Rostrum slightly surpassing hind margin of prosternum. Pronotum 3.9 times as wide as long. Anterior margin slightly sinuate, lateral margin strongly convex, with uneven teeth, posterolateral angle acute, bent backwards. Median carinae subparallel, not strongly elevated, disc more or less flat. Abdomen with inconspicuous border between tergites 3-6. Apodemal impressions bordered by yellowish granules and also scattered yellowish granules along hind margin of tergites. Lateral margin of laterotergites with yellow teeth and/or granules, anteriorly arcuate, medially straight. Posterolateral angle of laterotergites increasingly acute-angled in posterior direction. Tip of abdomen on Fig. 16. Measurements: total length of body 7.06 mm, length of head 1.39 mm, width of head 1.29 mm, length of antenna 2.46 mm. Material examined: Nord-Brical (?) Aradus brenskei Reuter, 1884 Body (Fig. 17) yellowish with scattered brown and red markings. Head before eyes yellow, antennái joints I and III yellow, II brownish, IV blackish brown. Lateral portion of pronotum, median portion of scutellum and wing pads mostly yellow. The area bordered by midlateral apodemal impressions of tergites 3-6 brownish (but also with yellow granules, especially posteromedially), darker than the remaining part of abdomen. Apodemal impressions brown. Antenna and legs as well as tergites with yellow granulation (or teeth). Head moderately long (Fig. 20), antenniferous tubercle, its lateral tooth and preocular tubercle long, pointed, postocular tubercle prominent. Vertex with coarse yellow granulation. Antenna long, joint II slightly thickening in the whole length towards apex, III-IV cylindrical. Relative length of antenna! joints I to IV as 11:44:19:26. Rostrum almost reaching hind border of mesosternum. Pronotum about 3 times as wide as long, with highly elevated disc and median carina. Anterior border slightly sinuate, lateral border arcuate, with large teeth, posterolateral angle acute-angled. Abdomen with inconspicuous border between tergites 3-6. Laterotergites not sharply bordered medially, lateral margin with stronger tooth anteriorly and with uneven teeth on almost straight posterior 3/5. Posterolateral angles acute-angled on each segment. Tip of abdomen on Fig. 18 and 19 (with considerable differences on two specimens). Measurements: total length of body 7.20 mm, length of head 1.16 mm, width of head 1.13 mm, length of antenna 1.95 mm. Material examined: Talysh, Lenkoran, 4 specimens (measured) and Alcsut (Hungary). There are also 2 L 4 larvae in the material. Head, antenna and tip of abdomen may be seen in Figs 21-22. Coloration similar to those of L 5 larva. Relative length of antennái joints I to IV as 12:39:19:30.
