the dark hind wing of the Fig. 440 is characteristic for some Apairca species but not for Poly mixis bischoffi) , this case leaded probably to the confusion of bischoffi with some Apamea taxa. The female, preserved in fairly good condition, represents the same species accepted generally as bischoffi (SEITZ suppl. 1935, BOURSIN 1940 etc.). This specimen can be designed as the lectotype of species (the male cannot be referred as type because the specimen must be destroyed during the revolution in Vienna in 1848) as the female genitalia also bear some good distinguishing characters (see Figs 52-53).
