FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK XLVII. 1-2 1986 p. 135-140 New data to the caddisfly fauna of Hungary (Trichoptera) By S. U. NÓGRÁDI (Received November 22, 1985) Abstract') Species new to the Hungarian fauna are Ptilocolepus granulatus Pictet, Orthotrichia angustella McLachlan, Hydroptila forcipata Eaton, Philopotamus ludifica- tus McLachlan and Adicella syriaca Ulmer. The unknown female of Hydroptila dampfi Ulmer is depicted. Some data of rare species are given. In the past years two short papers discussed the caddisfly species new in the Hungarian fauna (NÓGRÁDI 1984, 1985a). Since these papers further, rather large material numbering over fifteen thousand specimens were elaborated from the collections of the years 1983-1985. These caddisflies were collected by night .capturing, light-trapping and sweeping on the South and West Transdanubia. The examination of a stream and some artifical fish-ponds of the South Transdanubia were carried out thoroughly. We collected several times in some brooks of West Hungary, too. These collections, yielded several rare species, among others five species which proved to be new to the Hungarian fauna. Abbreviation of the collectors: SN = Sára U. NÓGRÁDI, U = Ákos UHERKOVICH. In tubes in the collections of Janus Pannonius Museum, Pécs and Savaria Museum, Szombathely. - It does not occur on the Balkans and in the Danube Basin and it is very local in the Carpathians (BOTOS ÄNE ANU and MALICKY 1978). This species lives in springs, in the rhithral zone and in hygropetric biotopes. The richest Hungarian locality has been discovered in the Jeli Arboretum nearby Kám, W. Hungary. Its biotope is a small stream cut among pebble hills. The bottom of this stream is covered by water mosses. Several specimens were collected here from May to September, further two males were swept in the Kőszeg Mountains (Figs 1-5). Orthotrichia angustella McLachlan, 1865. - S. Hungary, Kisdobsza, July 19, 1985 2 8 (SN).The distribution of this hydroptilid is rather insufficiently known. The first Hungarian specimens two males - were captured by lamp near Kisdobsza. The biotope is well investigated, from here 63 caddisfly species are known up today, of which 3 proved to be new to the fauna of Hungary. On the site there is a small stream with sandy-muddy bottom. The water meanders on plain agricul-
