Peus, 1948, that was registered within the Carpathian Basin by ROSICKY (1957) and JURIK (1962). Here it should be mentioned nevertheless, the PEUS* s (1972) theory regarding the later immigration of the more adaptable species of N. fasciatus to Europe and after contact with populations of native steppe species (or subspecies) of N. paganus was not certified by our investigations. The continuous transition of morphological features between " fasciatus" and " paganus " is found in exoanthropic (steppes inhabiting) as well as synathropic populations in isolated mountain settlement. The European distribution of N. fasciatus by means of synanthropic populations of brown rat (Rattus norvegicus ) in historical period (PEUS, 1972 and others) could cause the restriction of the distribution of N.mokrzeckyi in accordance with a similar retreat of steppe inhabitants (Spalax. Citellus and others). The ecological status of N. fasciatus within the synusia of fleas on mouse-like rodents inhabiting secondary steppes in the Pannonian area is similar to that of M. turbidus among fleas on inhabiting rodents. They both might be considered as relatives from taxonomical and ecological points of view. Some features, e.g., their host organisms, seasonal dynamics are similar. It means, they substitute each other mutually within the parasitocenoses in suitable ecosystems as to functional point of view. The measure of participation of either interspecific competition will be testified experimentally, or their own eco-physiological dispositions on that ecological vicariation. The regard to that interesting aspect of ecological distribution was a reason to summarize the results of s-tudy on the territorial distribution of species of both genera within the family Ceratophyllidae in this contribution.
