black upwards curving apical part. Apical part bifurcate as visible in dorsal view. From centre at the end of the second part arises the small membranous aedeagus very badly visible both in lateral and apical views. There is a real need for a detailed comparative study to homologize the structural units of phallic complexes in these small genera, like Psilopterna , Badukiella in relation with genus Chae- topterygopsis , Anitella, Psilopterix , Kelgena with in the tribe Chaetopterygini Schmid. There seems homology between the very small, badly visible aedeagus of all the four Psilopterna species and the endophallus of the species Badukiella prohibita Mey et Müller. The second Badukiella species discovered and described in this paper supports this homology. If the membranous or slightly sclerotized median processes represent the aedeagus itself, then the strong heavily sclerotized upcurving bifurcate processes are actually parameres, and not the aedeagus as established in the generic description given by MEY and MÜLLER (1979). In Psilopterna alageza sp. n. the stout, upcurving, black parameres together with the small aedeagus arise from the endothecal area which are more or less overlapped by the strongly developed phallotheca forming together the phallobase with the truncate phallic apodeme at the proximal end of the phallus. This species is far from the first Fig. 4. Psilopterna alageza sp. n. A. male genitalia, lateral, B. dorsal, C. posterior, D. wings described species Psilopterna pevzovi Martynov, 1915 and is very close to the second species P. hi r sut a Martynov, 1928. It shows clear relation also to the last described third species P. eukrati- da Schmid, 1961. There are, however, well-defined differences differences in all genital structural units. Eighth tergite without the black spot of short stout spines present on P. hirsuta and P.euk- ratida . Intermediate appendages are longest among the known species and form a very special concavity partly together with the small superior appendages. Phallus is extremely robust with a very small, hardly visible aedeagus. Holotype 8 . Caucasus, Armenia, Alagez, a massive mountain with a peak of 4095 m northwest of the capital Erevan 2-3. VI. 1955 leg. ZAGULYAYEV. Deposited in the Zoological Institute, Leningrad. Right pair of wings mounted as dry microscopic preparation. Caustic potash-treated abdomen and the remaining part of the body are stored in a single airtight selfstanding vial with 70 % ethanol.
