MÓCZÁR (Received 15 May, 1985) Abstract: The new female and the variability of Sulcomesitius kuncheriai Móczár. 1976 known so far only in two specimens from Viet Nam and Borneo, are recorded on the basis of 4 females and 82 males collected in S. Malaysia. Sulcomesitius kuncheriai Móczár Sulcomesitius kuncheriai Móczár, 1976: Acta biol. On the basis of the 82 Malaysian specimens kindly sent by Dr. Henry TOWNES the original description of male can be supplemented as follows. Length 3.5-6 mm. Body black or partly (pronotum, tegulae, propodeum and abdomen) dark reddislh brown, first antennái joints usually, tarsi, mandibles and tibiae partly, yellowish brown. Wings reaching beyond tergite 3. Antennae with long suberect hairs. Antennái joint 4 not always twice as long as broad, 8:4 on holotype, but vary between 2.00-2.25 times (exceptionally 1.85 and 2.50 times). Longitudinal furrow of mesonotum not always gradually deepening towards posterior margin, but sometimes shorter and margined more or less shorter. Tergite 2 often very finely (holotype) or finely, even distinctly and only laterally, partly also densely punctured, the triangle area along ventro-lateral margin of tergite 2 anteriorly smooth and polished. In spite of the diverse punctures of tergite 2, the male genitalia of holotype agreeing with the other specimens. These small differences of the variability make difficulties in separation of this species among the related species. Ç. - Length 4.5-7 mm. Colour similar to males, only larger specimens largely black, lower side of the last six antenna! joints brownish yellow. Head only 1.07 times longer than broad (55:51) similarly to males, POL:OOL = 6:10, eyes separated from mandible by only a quarter the distance
