FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK XLV. 2 1984 p. 21-23 Description of a new species of Afroagathidium Ang. et Peck from Ghana (Coleoptera: Leiodidae) By F. ANGELINI and L. De MARZO (Received May 28, 1984) Abstract: Afroagathidium kaszab! sp.n. Is described on the basis of one male specimen from Ghana. In comparison with Afroagathldlum capense Ang. et Peck and A. zal- rense Ang. et Dmz., it Is characterized by smaller size, different ratio of 3rd/2nd in antenna! segments and different shape of the male copulatory organ. The genus Afroagathldlum Ang. et Peck has recently been designated on the basis of a new species from South Africa, A. capense (Angelini et Peck 1983). Subsequently, a second species: A. zalrense (Angellnl et De Marzo 1984) of this genus has been found In Zaire. Here we describe a third species of Afroagathldlum on the basis of one specimen found In the material collected in Ghana by Dr. S. E NDR O DY - YOU NG A . We are indebited to Dr. Zoltán KASZAB, Director-General of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, for the loan of this very interesting material. Afroagathidium kaszabi sp. n. Length 1.5 mm (holotype o*). Dorsum dark redd! s h-brown, paler at sides; venter reddishbrown, paler on mesosternum; antennae and legs testaceous. Mlcrooreticulatlon absent. Puncturatlon nearly absent (only some very small punctures on head and pronotum). Head: Anterior-lateral margins weakly rimmed; a slight dimple behind the rim. Clypeal line absent. 3rd antennái segment shorter than the 2nd (3rd/2nd = 0.8) and as long as 4th+5th (Fig. 3). Hamann* s organ: gutter without vesicles in both 9th and 10th antenna! segments. Pronotum: 1.5 times as broad as head, a little broader than long (W/L • 1.3) and moderately convex (W/H = 1.62). Anterior margin moderately bent (Fig. 2). Lateral outline truncjate (Fig. 1). Holotype: length 0.46 mm, width 0.60 mm, height 0.37 mm. Elytra: Moderately broader than pronotum, as broad as long and very convex (W/H = 1.15). Lateral outline with a strong humeral angle (Fig. 1). Suturai striae distinct, within the apical half. Holotype: length 0.67 mm, width 0.69 mm, height 0.60 mm. Metathoracic wings present. Meso- and metasternum: median carina present, lateral lines present, femoral lines absent. Legs: Tarsal formula cf 4-4-4, o unknown. Male copulatory organ (Figs 4-5): Aedeagus slender, bifid, moderately excavated at dorsum,
