This species differs from D. nigra sp. n. by the very irregular and confused reticulation of the head and pronotum, but more especially as from all other species of Dibelonetes so far described from Papua New Guinea by the calluses on the elytra. - Black, antennae, legs and paratergites reddish-yellow. Head a little broader than long, reticulation large and irregular, basal area extending to the temples as far as the eye without sculpture, with the exception of one single stria extending to the "neck"; eyes very convex their longitudinal diameter shorter than the temples but about equal to the fore part of the head; antennae long, filiform, second segment shortest, last segment longer than penultimate, acuminate. Pronotum longer than broad (3.0:2.25), reticulation very irregular and confused, leaving areas towards the posterior third shining and without microsculpture, broadest about middle, with three lateral tubercles each with a long bristle and with one nearer the posterior margin, anterior margin a little narrower than posterior. Elytra longer than broad, rather coarsely but not densely, punctured, with four shining calluses in line from the anterior third, with another on reflexed margin which forms a distinct ridge with the upper surface, very shining. Abdomen shining, coarsely but not densely punctured, seventh tergite without punctures, paratergites sub-vertical, distinct and with an extremely fine microsculpture. Aedeagus fig. 20. - Length ö mm. , Holotype cf unique, Daulo Pass, Asato - Chimbu Divide, 8.iv.l972 (R. HORNABROOK) leaflitter. Cephalochaetus hornabrooki sp. n. This species-differs from C. nitidifoveatus Bernh. (from the Philippines) by Its dull black colour and more coarsely punctured abdomen; from C. standingeri Bernh. (fjcpm the Philippines) in the absence of the very coarse punctures at the base of tergites three to six. It resembles mostly C. myrmecocephalus Lea (from Australia) In the sculpture of the pronotum and elytra, but is much smaller and the tergites are more coarsely punctured. -, Head, pronotum and abdomen black; antennae and maxillary palpi dark brown to yellow especially segments four to eleven of the antennae and apex of last segment of the palpi which are clearer yellow. Head longer than broad, measuring from the insertion of the antennae and the outer circumference of the eyes (3.0:2.5). Sides before the eyes slightly converging; vertex with a deep diamond-shaped sulcus shining and unpunctured, which continues as a furrow which bifurcates in front to the base of the antennae to enclose a smooth triangular space, there is also a short transverse furrow extending transversely to the centre of the inner margins of each eye; deeply longitudinally sulcate for the reception of the first segment of the antennae the lower part extends beyond the upper part and makes the head parallelsided. This is a distinctive feature of the genus. The two elongate parts of the upper surface finely shagreened and sparsely granularly punctured. The rounded temples also punctured and with distinct lateral bristles; antrrior margin of labrum rounded with a small emargination in the centre; maxillary palpi large, the last segment obconical. Antennae with the first segment equal in length to the following seven eight segments, reminiscent of the "scape" in the Curculionidae, segments two to six each a little shorter than the previous, last three segments almost spherical, last segment a little longer than the penultimate, acuminate. "Neck" with short deep sulci. Pronotum longer than broad (3.5:2.75), broadest at anterior third, strongly narrowing to the "neck", broadly and weakly sinuate to the posterior margin, distinctly bordered fr.qm just before broadest part to the posterior margin; finely shagreened, dull; at the anterior margin with a shining elongated cupiform keel, which is traceable through the shagrinatlon turn towards the centre and are bordered by a very narrow transverse keel; towards the posterior margin is a shining central keel divided by a very narrow sulcus; anterior third with short lateral setae. Elytra longer than broad (4:3), parallelsided, shagreened but not as fine as that of the pronotum, with transverse oblique furrows weakly visible throughout the shagrinatlon; with short lateral setae. Abdomen rather densely and coarsely but finely punctured, more so on tergites three to six, moderately pubescent, narrowing towards the apex. Legs finely setose. Aedeagus fig. 21. - Length 5 mm. Holotype cf unique, Morehead, 12,xi. 1974 (R. HORNABROOK). Cephalochaetus ventriosus sp. n. The puncturation of the pronotum and elytra is almost identical with that of C. standingeri Bernh. and C. nitidifoveatus Bernh., (both from the Philippines) but the puncturation of the abdomen
