ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK XLV. 1 1984 p. fW-Ml Some new Pygmephorid and Scutacarid species from Hungary (Acari: Tarsonemina) By S. MAHUNKA and A. M. ZAKI (Received 1 December, 1983) Abstract: Six new species (2 Pygmephoridae and 4 Scutacaridae) are described from Hungary . In the course of our faunistical and ecological Investigations, we found in some localities in the Kiskunság National Park, Hungary six new Tarsonemina species. The faunistical data will be issued on other publications, the descriptions of the new species are given hereunder. PYGMEPHORIDAE Cross, 1965 Pygmephorus smlleyi sp.n. Measurements. - Length: 338 ^m, width: 175 /im. Dorsal side (Fig. 1): Propodosoma large, its anterior margin slightly convex. Peritremes originating laterally, rostral setae arising between them. Anterior exobothrldial setae very short, setae rostrales more than twice as long as setae exa. Posterior exobothrldial seta robust.Sensillus asymmetrically acuminate. Notogastral setae different in length and shape, setae cj < C2 , di> fi> hi , but all thick, and well ciliated. Setae e^ smooth but spiniform, setae h 2 , psj and ps2 minute and simple, setae PS3 slightly ciliate. The latter twice longer than psj or ps 2 Ventral side (Fig. 4): Setae of anterior sternal plate partly modified and very characteristic. Setae lc (Fig. 2) lanceolate, setae 2c (Fig. 3) styliform, and only finely spiculated. All other epimeral setae normal, setiform, with long cilia. Posterior sternal plate without apodeme V. Setae 4a standing farther from each other than 4b, 4a reaching to insertion points of 4b, both pairs longer than setae 4c or 3b. Legs: Tibiotarsus of leg I (Fig. 5) characteristic to the genus, modofied seta obtuse, claw well striated. Laterodorsal setae of genu dilated, fusiform. Genu of legs II (Fig. 7) and III also with fusiform setae. Setae dF very long and well spiculated, other two setae much shorter and smooth. Setae dF of leg IV spiniform. Material examined: Holotypus (942-HT-84): Hungary, Kiskunság National Park: Tabdi, IX. 1979.
