A widely spread species occurring in Central Europe and onwards in northern and central Kazakh S.S.R. and Central Asia. New to the fauna of Mongolia. Anthophora carlnulata F. Morawitz, 1886. - Central aimak: 11 km S vom Pass Zosijn davaa, (cca 90 km S von Ulan-Baator), 1650 m, 7-8.VI. 1967 (Nr. 769), 1 9. Described from Turkestan (Kazakh S.S.R.), reported also from northern Mongolia (FRIESE 1895). Anthophora kaszabi sp.n. (Fig. 1) $ . - Length 12 mm. Black, only ends of tarsus yellow-brownish. Gena developed, length one fourth of the width. Clypeus convex, protruding (In profile) equal to that of the eye. Length of the second segment of antennae equalling the total length of the three following segments. Labrum slightly shiny with coarse and deep punctures. Frontal margin with a slight cut. Clypeus densely but clearly punctured. Spaces between punctures slightly wrinkled. Whole face with light, white-yellowish piloslty, except for some dark hairs at the base of clypeus.Dark hairs also behind eyes. Mesonotum shiny, coarsly punctured, middle even. Scutellum coarsly punctured and wrinkled, small oblong keel in its front. Propodeum with oblong groove, punctured at sides, middle only slightly wrinkled. Thorax covered with white-yellowish hairs at the top, sides white, underside covered with brownish hairs. Tegulae dark brown, wings slightly darkened. Legs with dark brown hairs, metatarsus I at frontal margin with long hairs, 2.5 times longer than its width. Tibia and metatarsus III with light yellowish hairs, inside with short, dark brown hairs; penicillus golden. Calcaria dark. Abdomen coarsly punctured with slight blue shine on the first four tergites. Tergites I—III with light, whitish hairs, latter slgnifically longer at the ends of tergites forming broad bands narrowing in the middle. Tergites IV-VI all black hairy. Sternites with narrow brown bands, at the base and in the middle shiny, slightly wrinkled between sparse punctures. cf. - Unknown. VII. 1967 (Nr. 925, 026), 2 $. This species is named in honour of Dr. Z. KASZAB in recognition of his great contribution to the Investigation of the Mongolian fauna.
