Sulcomesitius bicolor sp.n. o_ . - Length 4.5 mm. Body rufous, excepting eyes and ocelli, three spots on anterior part of mesonotum, posterior part of central areas of propodeum dark blackish red, upper side of antenna! joints 4-13 and abdomen black, lower side of antennái joints 6-13 yellowish, posterior margins of abdominal tergites dark reddish translucent. Wings normal, reaching to tergite 3 (on some paratype shorter), but reaching at least to tergite 2, fore wings dark brownish Infuscate with broad and sharp margined lighter band outside of cells, as well as basally, veins brown, pterostigma partly lighter. Body sparsely covered with short white hairs, tergite 1 with a distinct tuft of white hairs laterally (fig. 35), tergite 2 with a row of short, fine scattered loose white hairs on its posterior margin. Head as long as broad, distinctly broadened behind eyes, distance between posterior margin of eyes and occipital carina equal with three-quarters length of eyes (15 : 21), lateral sides of head (viewed from above) gradually converging (fig. 34), posterior margin weakly emarginate with occipital carina; ocelli In a rectangle, nearly an acute angle, separated from each other by a distance three-quarters of that from eyes, POL:OOL = 9:12, outer margins with deep shining grooves; frontal sulcus short developed just above clypeus, surface of frons shagreened, rather densely punctured, Interspaces narrower than punctures; anterior margin of clypeus sharply semicircularly protruding medially, excised laterally with obtuse corners, diverging backwards and raised longitudinally into a sharp high keel medially; eyes large, convex, separated from mandibles by a distance 1.62 times longer than eye length (21 : 13), length and breadth of eyes as 21 : 11. Antennae short and thickened medially (joints 5-8, fig. 33), only joints 1-3 and 13 longer than broad, scape more than three times, joint 2 1.8 times, 3 only 1.5 times and joint 13 1.3 times longer than broad, joints 4-12 distinctly shorter than long, length (and breadth) proportions of antenna! joints 1-13 = 26(8): 9(5): 10(6.5): 6(6.5): 5(6.5): 5(7): 6(7): 6(7): 6(7): 5(6): 5(6): 5(6): 8(6). Pronotum (without collar) shorter than broad in front (32 : 40), anterior corners rectangular, hardly protruding laterally (fig. 34), lateral sides only slightly concave behind corners up to middle diverging backwards, posterior margin nearly straight, surface shagreened, with dense and deep larger punctures, longitudinal furrow narrow, deep only in front, reaching posterior margin (fig. 34). Mesonotum weakly shining with fine punctures and with scattered larger deeper punctures, parapsidal furrow well developed, notaulices very deep and sharply margined (fig. 39), longitudinal furrow developed often over its whole length, broadened backwards, sometimes shallower.Scutellum weakly shining with some larger and posteriorly also with deeper punctures (fig. 39) and with a very short and narrow sulcus medially. Propodeum short, 1.27 times shorter than half breadth (20 : 25.1), lateral margin usually moderately convex before spine and diverging from spine, latter strong (fig. 39), acute viewed from above, rounded in lateral view (on holotype), or acute (on paratype), about as long as two-thirds length of propodeum medially (14 : 20 holotype), or propodeum 1.33-1.45 times longer than spine (on paratypes), all carinae and areas developed, sublateral and lateral areas transversally wrinkled. Lateral side of propodeum irregularly wrinkled, along upper margin with a parallel stronger wrinkle reaching only to vertical edge of disc and not to spine, Episternum coarsely punctured with a shallow furrow diagonally below tegulae. Abdomen smooth shining, horizontal part of tergite 1 anteriorly with distinct, scattered finer punctures excepting the broad posterior margin (fig. 35) and more densely and distinctly punctured laterally, tergite 2 (fig. 38) densely and deeply punctured, laterally very densely punctured excepting the small polished corner in ventro-lateral part anteriorly and finely alutaceous posteriorly (fig. 36), interspaces laterally smaller than punctures; posterior margins of tergites 2-5 very finely alutaceous, tergites 3-5 semicircularly impressed medially, also tergites 3-5 densely punctured. Sternite 2 very deeply and very densely punctured (fig. 37). - <?. - Unknown. Holotype o : "Sri Lanka" Anu.Dlst.Paraviya archeol site, 60 meters", (correctly Padawiya), "21-VII:1978 coll. KV.
