Ctenophthalmus uaciaatus uncinatus (Wagner) 1898 1 cf. 1 Ç; locality: Kishuta (Com. Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén), 14 November, 1982, leg. F. Mészáros. Host: Clethrionomys glareolus (Schreber). The newly detected species belongs along with the latter discussed species to the subgenus Euctenophthalmus Wagner and/or to the " assimilis " species-subgroup, according to SMIT (1963). They have a European distribution and very similar features of ecology (host spectrum, seasonal dynamic and so on). From among them only C. assimilis (Taschenberg) is distributed all over the country. The remaining three species have limited distribution restricted mostly to the mountainous parts of Hungary. The best known species C. congener congener Rothschild is distributed over the western and northern hilly and mountain areas, approximately following the natural distribution of beech (Fagus silvatica). Ctenophthalmus obtusus Jordan et Rothschild is known in the Mátra Mts. (HAITLINGER, 1973) and in the Bükk Mts. (SZABÓ, 1974). The recently discovered species Ctenophthalmus uncinatus uncinatus (Wagner) has a boreomontane type of distribution and occurs in Hungary only in the Zemplén Mts. being a continuation of the Slovakian mountainous range (own unpublished data). Both of the newly recorded species are mentioned in the volume of Siphonaptera (SZABÓ, 1975) in the seires of Fauna Hungáriáé as to be excepted. REFERENCES DUDICH, A.
