Siteroptes stellifer sp. n. from Hungary (Acari) By A. M. ZAKI (Received December 1, 1982) Abstract: A new Siteroptes species ( S. stellifer sp.n.) is described from Hungary. Regular soil zoological examinations have been carried out in the territory of the Kiskunság National Park. These examinations include the monthly sampling of soil in the environs of Fülöpháza- from characteristic biotopes (Juniperus communis, Robinia pseudacacia, Pinus nigra woods, and scrubs of Salix cinerea). The subsequently described new species has been recovered from samples originating from a Pinus nigra wood. Siteroptes stellifer sp.n. Female Measurements. - Length 238-312 /im, width: 94-130 yum. Dorsal side (Fig. 1): Body elongate, slightly fusiform, opaque. Peritrema very long and slender, situating in V-formation. Sensillus large, outer hemisphere of its head rugulose. Three pairs of prodorsal setae present, rostral one being the shortesty exostigmatal one the longest. Median pair modified, very characteristically branched (Fig. 3). All ten pairs of notogastral setae present, c^ short (27/im), di (32 ^m) equal in lenght with hi, fi (60 pm) much longer then ei, h2 the longest of all (112 urn). Ventral side (Fig. 2): Epimeral setal formula: 2-2-3-2. All setae - excepting lc - simple, nearly equal in length. 1 c slightly dilated. Three pairs of caudal (ps) setae present, psj and ps2 minute, psg long, much stronger than preceding ones. Legs: Tarsus of leg I (Fig. 4) long and slender, both solenidia fusiform. Tarsus and tibia of leg IV as in Fig. 5. Male Measurements. - Length: 190-215/im, width: 105-120 yum. Dorsal side (Fig. 6): Prodorsum bearing 4 pairs of setae, fourth pair (proximally) being the longest. The ratio of the setae as shown in Fig. 6. Ventral side (Fig. 7): Apodemes well developed, first and second epimeres closed, both have two pairs of setae, all nearly equal in length. Third epimeres open, because the third and
