strongly convex, without setiferous pores. Microsculpture very fine, on head almost isodiametric, on pronotum consisting of narrow transverse meshes, on elytra meshes wider, but on disk microsculpture strongly reduced, therefore surface of elytra strongly shining. Aedeagus - fig. 92, right paramere - fig. 100. Length - 10.0-10.9 mm. Width - 3.5-3.8 mm. Holotype, cf: Caucasus, Megrelskij ridge, source of Khob river, Staskheno Mt., 2500 m, 3.VIII. 1960, leg. V. KURNAKOV (ZIL). Paratypes: 3 cf, the same locality (ZIL). Nebria (Alpaeus) retrospinosa Heyd. DANIEL. Lectotype, cf. of N. planulata Reitt. (HNHM), designated here, bears labels "Caucas. occ, Circassien, LEDER, REITTER", "Swanetien, LEDER". Paralectotypes: 3 $ (HNHM), with the same labels; 2 cf , 9 $ (ZIL), with labels "Caucas. occ. Circassien, LEDER, REITTER", moreover one of them bears label " Nebria planulata Rttr, type, REITTER 88" by handwriting of A.P. SEMENOV-TIAN-SHANSKIJ. About types of N. planulata f. tristicula Reitt. see above, under N. tenella Mötsch. Body dark brown, antennae, palpi and legs entirely reddish piceous or reddish brown, rarely intermediate segments of antennae and femorae infuscated. Pronotum (Figs 86, 87) moderately convex, 1.4-1.5 times as wide as head, 1.50-1.60 times as wide as long, rather strongly rounded at sides and fairly sinuated before acute hind angles, the form of which is rather variable; lateral sides rather wide flattened and reflexed, basal foveae deep and wide, basal area and lateral reflection somewhat dense punctate, apical margin with more sparse punctures. Elytra ovate, fairly flattened, 1.38-1.48 times as wide as pronotum, 1,52-1.62 times as long as wide, widest in apical third, basal border weakly curved, forming with lateral one obtuse angle. Striae deep, faintly punctate, intervals fairly convex, interval 3 with 1-3 very small pores apically, ajoining stria 3, scutellar pores present or reduced; apical carina short and flat. Microsculpture very fine, on head and pronotum consisting of short transverse meshes, on elytra meshes slightly longer. Ventral surface punctate as in N. caucasica . Sternits 3-5 unisetose (very rarely proportion of setae 1+2, 2+2). Aedeagus - fig. 95. Length 9.1-10.6 mm. Width 3.6-4.3 mm. From N. tenella Mötsch, greatly differs in its shorter and wider pronotum and elytra (fig. 89), form of pronotum, chetotaxy of abdomen. Material.
