The original description of A. v-minus (Oberthür, 1884), and the figure published rather agree with the specimen from Korea. However, the configuration of the genitalia conforms with the drawing published by ICHINOSE (1962) of the structure representing Jo_ta (Linnaeus, 1758) (plate VII, fig. 7). The genitalia of the specimen under discussion (fig. 1) differs in several significant characteristics from those of the European jota (fig. 2); as to habits, the spec*:. " considerably differs both from the latter one and from representatives of A. pulchrina (Haworth, 1809), thus It cannot be identical with "var." amurica (Staudinger, 1892) either. A safe relegation might be made only after future comparative studies and examinations of type-specimens. Macdunnoughla confusa (Stephens, 1850). A study of the material assignable to the confusa group revealed that the "confusa" of the northern regions of Korea contains two nearly related and sympatric species: one of them is the Holopalaearctic M. confusa (Stephens, 1850), while the other is a species standing between confusa and err Usigna (Warren, 1913), both as to habit and genitalic characters (in both sexes), yet still well distinguishable from them. Since the description of M. rhopalosema (Hampson, 1913), partly fits also the animal under discussion, only a study of the type materials can decide whether we are dealing with a new species or rhopalosema , in this case not synonymous with crassisigna. It should also be noted, however, that KOSTROWICKI (1961) published the figure of the female of problematic species under crassisigna, and ICHEf'OSE (1962) under that of confusa .
