Holotypus - Carabodes hungaricus sp.n. det. J. Balogh. - The preparation shows three individuals (two males and a female) one of which has a rather well sclerotized cuticle whilst, very likely, the others are either recently open adults or they were submitted to a clarifying process. Figs 2-4. Carabodes hungaricus Balogh, 1943. - 2 = Prodorsum of the holotypus without the legs, from the dorsal side - 3 = Detail of the presumable in seta - 4 = Detail of the rostral seta in the holotypus Measurements: The sizes of the three specimens contained in the preparation labelled as holotypus are the following: 1) 960 u x 670 p. (holotypus):this individual is more sclerotized than the other two. 2) 990 u x 670 p. (a female); the ovopositor is visible through the integument. 3) 880 u x 570 u (presumably a male); this specimen is the clearest of the three. Col our: The colour is pale brown, but the preparation is too old to be reliable. Besides, the specimens may have been subjected to clarification with NaOH or other liquids. Probably, the type specimen in origin appeared as Carabodes coriaceus or similar species. Cerotegument and cuticle: It Is impossible for me to discover traces of the vaxy cerotegumental laye*. On the anterior portion of the prodorsum the cuticle appears clearly areolated, but this kind of microsculpture is not present on the dorsal surface of the lamellae. Even on the large basal protuberance of the prodorsum no microsculpture is visible. The areolae are present, instead, on the antiaxial surface of pedotecta I and II. Medially, on the prodorsum a long ridge is visible on whose cuticle a micropunctuation is seen (Figs. 1,2). Notogaster with irregular ridges being larger than in Carabodes coriaceus. more irregular in several portions of the dorsum and they appear to be composed of an amount of tubercles only in few zones (Fig 1). Perhaps, the grooves that seem to delineate the ridges are not original, but simply the lines caused by the inferior resistence of the citucle; therefore the design they determine does not "correspond to the real dorsal microsculpture. On the ventral side the microsculpture is similar to that of Carabodes coriaceus: epimeral region bears distinct areolae, except in correspondence with the two sternal
