Examining many specimens identified as H. dorsalis (Spin.) or H. Buffoleiensis (Morley) I could not find any specific differences between them. I am quite convinced that the two names refer to the same species, the senior name is H. dorsalis. - First tergite wedge-shaped. Areola or Cu2 closed (the main differentiating feature from Apanteles parasitellae Bouché). Ovipositor sheath as long as or slightly shorter than hind tibia. Tergites laterally frequently and in a variable size reddish yellow. - Distribution: Frequent in the western Palaearctic Region. Localities. 1 g: Bakonybél, Vörös János séd. 1 6: Balatonakarattya. 1 6': Csobánka, Csikóvár. 1 g: Hosszűhetény. 1 g: Kaposvár, 1 g: Miskolc, Lillafüred. 1 g: Nagykovácsi, 1 g: Nagykovácsi, Nagyszénás. 1 ff: Pécs, Tettye. 1 g: Porva, Pálihálás. 1 í: Tihany. - Transylvania. 1 g: Szováta. 1 g: Mehádia. - V-TX, frequent in May; 9 g + 4 ff. Hypomicrogaster tiro (Reinhard, 1880) First tergite parallel-sided or slightly converging posteriorly. Ovipositor sheath three-quarters to two-thirds as long as hind tibia. Tergites black. - Distribution: A species with disjunct area - rather sporadically in Europe, recorded from Sachalin (USSR). New to the fauna of Hungary. Localitites. 2 g + 2 ff: Egyek, Ohati erdő. 1 ff: Kőszeg, Szabóhegy. - Transylvania. 1 g: Orsova. - VI-VR, 3 j + 3 í. Protomicroplitis Ashmead, 1898 Protomicroplitis alvearla (Fabricius 1798) Ichneumon alevarius (!) Fabricius, 1798, Suppl. Ent. Syst., p. 232, locus typicus "Galliae". Apanteles areolatus Szépligeti, 1896, Term.Füz., 19: 304 (in Hungarian) and 374 (in German), ff, locus typicus "Crkvenica" (Yugoslavia), syn_.n. ?= Ichneumon alvearifex Schrank, 1781, Enum.Ins.Aüstr., p. 378, locus typicus? Apanteles areolatus Szépl. is an evident junior synonym of P. alvearla (Fabr.). The male holotype is deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest; Hym. Typ. No. 1013. Body reddish yellow, legs rather yellow, propodeum and tergites brownish black. First tergite subparallel-sided. - Distribution: Western Palaearctic Region. In Hungary rare. Protomicroplitis orontes Nixon, 1965, Bull.Brit. Mus. (Nat.Hist.), Entom., Suppl. 2: 254, g, locus typicus Kuusama (Finland), svn._n_. The name P. orontes is an evident junior synonym of my P. claritibia. Holotype (g) and 1 g paratype are deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest; Hym. Typ. No. 450 (holotype) and 451 (paratype), further data see in PAPP 1959a. - Second tergite with a median field. First tergite with posteriorly slightly diverging sides and before its hind end rounded. Black, distal half of fore femur and entire fore tibia yellow to vivid yellow. - Distribution: Described from Hungary (captured in one locality). Up to now found in our country in several localities, furthermore, found in the Canary Islands, Tunisia, Syria, Turkey, Yugoslavia (Macedonia), Finland, Germany and in the USSR (Ukraine, Novorossisk) . It seems a widely distributed species in the Palaearctic Region.
