One pair from the type locality and 1 specimen from Hungary deposited in the U.S.National Museum, remainder in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. Scenopinus kaszabi sp.n. (Fig. 5) I take pleasure in naming this species after Dr. Z. KASZAB whose extensive collecting has added much of this new material. Length é body 2.3-2.6 mm, wing 1.8-2.0 mm, p body 2.7-3.3 mm, wing 1.8-2.2 mm. Male - head black; eyes black-brown abdomen black below; frons narrow, shining, a pit on ventral midline above dorsal extension of pubescent band laterad of oral opening; ocellar tubercle black, to back of head; ocelli red-brown; back of head concave; mouthparts black, velvety, filling oral cavity; palpi black, velvety, 2/3 length of oral cavity; antennae with first segment black­brown, second and third segments brown, third segment widest near base, covered with short hairs, a shallow pit near tip. Thorax with dorsum black, subshining, a scattering of silvery hairs; humeral callus tipped with red-brown, supraalar callus red-brown; mesoscutellum black above, ventral margin red-brown, subshining; wings smoky brown, veins brown; haltère stem red-brown, knob red-brown, fully rounded, upper and lower surfaces separated by a tan band; legs red-brown, tarBi lighter. Abdomen dark red-brown with three narrow white bands, 7th tergite deeply excavated on midline; 9th segment open above, pointed; claspers very prominent, pointed. Female - head black; eyes black-brosn; postocular rim narrow; frons broad, subshining, a thin groove on midline; ocellar tubercle black; ocelli red-brown; remainder of head as male. Thorax as male. Abdomen dark red-brown, 8th sternum exceeding tergum, distal third sharply narrowed, spatulate. Holotye: Mongolia, Suchebaator aimak: 45 km N von Somon Erdenecagan, 900 m, 9.
