i. Nocturnal collecting by lamp (Mischlicht and normal light), j. Pealing off bark, k. Sifting. 1. Singling. The above methods resulted in approximately 10,000 arthropods, several hundred mulloscs and various soil, litter, moss and other samples with microscopic animals. In listing the localities we first give the name of the administrative district, which is at the same time the name of the settlement, too. The second name is generally a geographical name, though sometimes in lack of this, the name of a hamlet perhaps comprising a few houses only. In designations we relied solely upon the officially issued St. Lucia map (Published for St. Lucia Government by the British Government' s Overseas Development Administration, Directorate of Overseas Surveys, 1972. Series E 803 /D.O.S. 345/ St. Lucia 1-3). List of localities No. 1. Castries, Hotel Halcyon Sands , 7. Vn. 1980. - Insects flying to the lights of the hotel. No. 2. Castries, Vigie, 8.
