\ Aphodius (Blackburneus) vixpunctatus sp. n. Yellowish brown, shiny, also vertex and disc of pronotum not or scarcely darker. Surface bald. Apical margin of clypeus lightly rounded, or straight, genae rounded, scarcely produced behind eyes. Front without tubercle, frontal suture and clypeal knob indistinct. Pronotum broader than long, sides weakly curved, anterior angles not produced and like hind angles also rounded. Basis without horder. Surface finely, very densely punctate, punctures nearly equal. Scutellum triangular. Elytra not dilated backwards, striae furrowed and finely punctate, intervals convex with dense punctures. Anterior tibiae tridentate, behind basal tooth serrated. Hind basitarsi distinctly longer than upper thorn of hind tibiae and about as long as following two joints together. Length: 2-2.7 mm. Examined material 14 specimens. Types: Holotype: S. Afr. N. Transvaal, Nylsvley, Smith frm., 24°40'S-28°42'E, E-Y Nr. 1146, leg. Endrödy-Younga; paratypes: with the same collecting data (dates various), E-Y Nr. 951, 953, 995, 1044, 1046, 1146, 1156. The new species is nearest to A . calvus Schmidt, but in this species the clypeus is emarginate, the punctures of pronotum small and bigger elytra very finely striated, hind basitarsi not longer than the upper thorn of hind tibiae, etc. Aphodius (Allobodilus) fascinatus sp. n. Reddish brown, elytra yellow, sides in posterior half and apex distinctly darkened, shiny, ap'ex dull. Apex of clypeus broadly emarginated, both sides of emargination sharply angulated, genae rounded, not produced behind eyes. Suture carinated, without tubercle. Surface very finely vertex somewhat strongly punctate. Pronotum much broader than long, sides lightly curved, basis bordered. Anterior angles not produced, posterior ones rounded. Surface densely punctate, punctures almost equal, bigger than on vertex. Scutellum triangular. Elytral striae shallow, on apex distinctly deeper, very finely and densely punctate, punctation of intervals fine, rather dense, on apex much stronger. Sides and apex with a fine pubescence, setae short, sparse, especially in anterior half. Anterior tibiae tridentate, behind basal tooth very finely serrated, longitudinal carina underneath without distinct dentides, apical spur opposite to hollow between middle and basal outer teeth. Transversal carinae of hind tibiae strong, apical bristles rather long, equal, sparse (about 12-14 bristles). Hind basitarsi about as long as upper thorn of hind tibiae and shorter than following three joints together. Length: 4.5-6 mm. - Examined material 34 specimens. Types: Holotype: S. Afr., N. Transvaal, Nylsvley, Smith frm. 24°40'S-28°42'E, E-Y Nr. 1156, 28.5.1976, leg. Endrödy-Younga. Paratypes: with the same collecting data but diverse dates of 1976 and E-Y Nr. 1146, 1147, 1148, 1156, 1179, 1185. Colour similar to A . ardens Harold, but frontal suture simply carinated, without a trace of tubercle. The darkened sides and apex of elytra separate the new species from all Allobodilus species . Change of names The name " costatulus " is preoccupied by Aphodius costatulus Schmidt, 1908 from Belgium, therefore Aphodius burorum nom, n. (= costatulus Endrödi, 1964, non Schmidt, 1908).
