S. Mahunka szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 33/1. (Budapest, 1980)

The species was originally described from Slavonia (today Yugoslavia). It is new to the Hungarian fauna! Fenella arenariae Zombori, 19 78 When the species was described the imagoes, the larvae and the host plant were known. In one occasion from the mine of Potentilla arenaria a parasitic larva was also recovered. This larva was identified by Prof. Dr. G. MINEO of Palermo, at that time a visiting scientist in our Museum at Budapest, as a species belonging in the family of Chalcididae. During the year of 1979 I collected 16 larvae still in mines on the 19th of July at Bugac, Ősborókás (Old Juniper Woodland) of which 7 imagoes emerged in the following month as detailed: 8th Aug. 1 9th Aug. 2 o_, 12th Aug. 1 13th Aug. 1 o, 15th Aug. 2 o_. A further female specimen was reared on the 15th of August by J, SZOCS from the same hostplant collected at Budaörs, Naphegy (near Budapest). The material originating from Bugac also yielded two parasites, which were kindly identified by Dr. G. SZELÉNYI of Budapest as Pnigalio soemius Walker and Sympiesis flavo- picta Bouiek. Messa nana (Klug, 1814) Scolioneura laeta Enslin, 1917 syn. n. ENSLIN (1917) described a new species on the basis of a male under the name of Scolioneura laeta. As early as in 1936 BENSON suggested a possible synonymy between laeta and nana , but since he had not examined the type, published his view with a question-mark. Dr. E. ALTENHOFER of Rappottenstein (Austria) while preparing his doctoral thesis on leaf-mining sawflies, collected many larvae of Messa nana. He reared 84 females and was successful also in obtaining a male. This male specimen, along with many females, he kindly presented to our Museum, so I had the opportunity to study, this apparently very rare male of the species. In order to support BENSON' s (1936) supposition, I asked Dr. Erich H. DILLER of Munich to send me the type of ENSLIN' s Scolioneura laeta. The comparison of the two males, and several other features corresponding in the females, unanimously revealed the synonymy between the two names. Consequently, Scolioneura laeta Enslin, 1917 is a junior synonym of Messa nana (Klug, 1814). Labels: "Type" (red label); "Torgau Wi 25. 5. 96 Kriegerl"; "Sammlung Dr. Enslin"; "Scolioneura laeta Ensl ó" Dr. Enslin det." (in Enslin' s hand-writing); I added "Holotypus o Scolioneura laeta Enslin, 1917 teste L. Zombori 1979" and "Messa nana Kl. 6* det.Zombori 1979". Tenthredo neobesa nom, n. Tenthredo obesa (Mocsáry, 1880) homonym Recently I revised Allantus obesus MOCSÁRY, 1880 in a paper (ZOMBORI 1977) and proposed a name for the new combination and re-established species. Meanwhile, in studying some sawfly species described by KLUG, I noticed that he also described a Tenthredo obesa Klug, 1814, though this name for a long time since has been a synonym of Mon som a pulverata (Retzius, 1783). Unfortunately, in MOCSÁRY's re-established species I created a secondary homonymy, obviously not applicable in nomenclature. Consequently, I give a new name to it as Tenthredo neobesa nom, n. pro Tenthredo obesa (Mocsáry, 1880) Zombori, 1977. In my paper, referred to above, a further calamity occurred, namely the figures had been misnumbered. The wording in the tabulated features is correct (p. 193). Thus, the fourth character of "obesa" should close with (Fig. 3), while that of the last one with "in Fig. 4". The same for rossii should end with Fig. 1, and that of the last one accordingly with "in Fig. 2".
