of opisthonotum covered with big and distinct spots. Dorsal cavities strikingly well selerotized, axes of inner and outer dorsal cavities strikingly oblique. Ventral side. Chaetotaxy and shape of peritremal shield typical of Zercon C.L.Koch, 1836. Adgenital shields present. Anterior margin of ventro-anal shield with two setae. Male. Length 340 urn, width 260 urn. Setae on podo- and opisthonotum and position of pores as in females. Lengths of setae of opisthonotum and distances between setae of singular rows in urn as follows: SI 37 Zl 19 I 1 19 37 35 40 S2 44 Z2 27 12 28 44 25 32 S3 50 Z3 45 13 40 40 45 28 S4 57 Z4 55 14 50 45 20 Z5 45 15 50 40 16 57 Deutonymph. (Fig. 8). Length 350 pm, width 285 pm. Podonotal setae il, s2-s6 and r3-r6 pilose, remaining setae smooth. Opisthonotal setae 11-15, Z1-Z2 short and smooth. Marginal setae of row R pilose, remaining setae of opisthonotum long, broadened and feathered apically. Seta Z3 reaching to insertion of seta Z4. Setae 16 100 pm distant from each another. Seta SI reaching to insertion of Seta S2. Distance between setae Z5 and 16 being 20 pm. Pore Po3 on line connecting setae Z4-I4. Sculpture of podo- and opisthonotum similar, but less discernible than in female. Dorsal cavities lobed frontally, their axes parallel to body axis. Anterior margin of ventro-anal shield with two setae. Lengths of setae of opisthonotum and distances between setae of single rows in Jim as follows: SI 45 Zl 13 1 1 13 45 45 45 S2 53 Z2 13 12 13 45 35 40 S3 60 Z3 53 13 10 45 45 30 S4 68 Z4 65 14 10 40 30 Z5 42 15 10 40 16 75 Systematic position: this species resembles Zercon balearicus Athias-Henriot. 1961 from which it differs by the following features: Zercon indiscretus sp. nov. 1. Setae 14-16, Z4, S4-S5 and marginal setae of row R without hyaline apices. 2. Pores Pol situated distinctly obliquely anteriorad to outside of insertion of setae Zl, 3. Seta s6 twice longer than seta 1 1. Z. balearicus Athias-Henriot, 1961 1. Setae 14-16, Z4, S4-S5 and marginal setae of row R with hyaline apices. 2. Pores Pol situated somewhat obliquely anteriorad to inner side of insertion of setae Zl. 3. Seta s6 equal to seta 1 1.
