Pore Po2 between setae SI and Z2. Pore Po3 on line connecting setae Z3 and Z4. Sculpture of podo- and opisthonotum similar but less discernible than in female. Dorsal cavities lobed frontally. Anterior margin of ventro-anal shield with two setae. Material examined: Holotype (q): No. 31-1. 1 Ex. Paratype (g): from the same sample; 16 £2, 2 ëé, 1 DN Paratypes: No. 37-1; 17 oj£, 9 űé, 2 DN Paratypes: No. 37-2. Zercon saphenus sp. n. Description of holotype. Female. Length 480 urn, width 380 jira. Dorsal side (Fig. 5). Setae: Podonotum with seta il pilose, rl-r6 with delicately hyaline apices. Remaining setae of podonotum smooth. Opisthonotal setae 11-12 short and smooth. Seta 12 reaching as far as half distance to 13. Setae 13-16 longwith hyaline apex. Apices of setae 13-14 reaching insertion of next setae. Setae I 6 longer than five previous ones and removed 120 urn from each other. Setae Z1-Z2 short and smooth similar to setae II. Setae Z3-Z4 similar in shape to setae 13-16. Seta Z3 reaching to insertion of seta Z4. Seta Z5 similar in shape to marginal setae, distance 30.um between setae Z5 and 16. All setae in row S long with hyaline apices. Seta SI more than twice longer than seta Zl. Seta SI shortest among all setae of this row and not reaching insertion of seta S2. All marginal setae of opisthonotum with delicately hyaline apices. Lengths of setae of opisthonotum and distances between setae of single rows in um as follows: SI - 32 Zl 16 I 1 18 56 68 68 S2 - 42 Z2 16 12 18 56 34 36 S3 - 55 Z3 36 13 36 56 36 32 S4 - 66 Z4 55 14 36 72 32 Z5 40 15 40 52 16 70 Pores: Opisthonotal pore Pol between anterior margin of opisthonotum and insertion of seta Z2. Pore Po2 on line connecting setae S2-Z4 hear S2, Pore Po3 online connecting setae I5-S3 in front of inner corners of exterior dorsal cavities. Sculpture. Entire podonotum with an irregular tile-like sculpture. Opisthonotum with tile-like sculpture in upper angles, reticulated fronto-medially, this sculpture reaching base of seta Z3. Remaining part of opisthonotum covered with distinct spots. Dorsal cavities large and well sclerotized. Ventral side. Chaetotaxy and shape of peritremal shield typical of Zercon C.L.Koch, 1836. Adgenital shields present. Anterior margin of the ventro-anal shield with two setae.
