First tergite 1. 5 times longer than its greatest width (Fig. 10). 4. Radial vein issuing from middle of stigma (Fig. 9). 1. Head in dorsal view less than twice as broad as long, behind eyes slightly broadening (cf. Fig. 12). 2. Upper part of head (frons, vertex) and mesonotum with a reduced sculpture, shiny. 3. First tergite 1. 75 times longer than its greatest width. 4. Radial vein issuing distallyfrom middle of stigma (cf. Fig. 17). M. ariatus sp. n. Stigma relatively wide, at most 2.2 times longer than wide, issuing radial vein from its middle. Metacarp short, shorter than half length of stigma (Fig. 9). Head in dorsal view distinctly twice broader than long, eye almost twice longer than temple (Fig. 7). First tergite anteriorly and rather laterally uneven to rugulose, posteriorly smooth, shiny. M. spectabilis (Hal. ) 1. Stigma relatively less wide, 2.7-3 times longer than wide, issuing radial veindistally from its middle. Metacarp long, usually as long as two-thirds length of stigma (Fig. 21). 2. Head in dorsal view subcubic, 1.65-1.75 times broader than long, eye only somewhat longer than temple (Fig. 20). 3. First tergite evenly or nearly evenly rugose, dull. Microplitis ruricola Lyle, 1918 - "Tunis,. Hoegen", 1 <j>. - Reported sporadically from the Palaearctic Region as far eastwards as Mongolia. New to the fauna of Tunisia. Microplitis spectabilis (Haliday, 1834) - Boughrara, 5 April 1977, No. 70, 1 o.. Widely distributed in Europe, reported from Morocco. New to the fauna of Tunisia. Microplitis tunetensis Marshall (Figs. 17-18) Microplitis tunetensis MarshaU, 1901, Bull. Mus. Hist. nat. (Paris), 6: 363, <j><f>, designation of types see below. Since its description no report was published of this species. It seems useful to complete the original description with some additional features: Body 2.8 mm long. Head in dorsal view transverse, slightly less than twice as broad as long, behind eyes temple somewhat broadening, i.e. head between temples slightly broader than between eyes. Antenna almost as long as body. First flagellar joint thrice, penultimate joint 1.6 times longer than wide. Mesonotum rugose, similar to that of M. spectabilis (Hal. ). Scutellum mediaUy uneven, lateraUy rugulose. First femur 3.5-4 times, third femur 4 times as long as broad. Stigma (Fig. 17) 2.5 times longer than wide, emitting radial vein distal from its middle. Metacarp short, as long as half length of stigma, rl half as long as width of stigma, and shorter than cuqul. First tergite (Fig. 18) 1.6-1.7 times longer than its greatest width, its hind third narrowing. Surface of first tergite smooth, shiny. Body black. Legs dark brown, coxae black, second trochanter of all legs, apex of all tibiae and base of all tarsal joints brownish yellow. Wings faintly brownish fumous. Stigma brown with a pale basal spot. Venation brown to yellow. Described and up to now known only from Tunisia. Locality: Ferma Shitta, Djebel Eddyar, ca. 7 km N from El Kef, 28 March 1977, No. 27, 1 <j> (compared to lectotype kindly lent to me by Mr. B. SIGWALT, Museum Paris).
