Specimens, determined by LOPATIN (1966:233) as Ch. lefevrei Rtt. are typical Ch. grandis Weise. Additional data: Ostgobi aimak, Cagan Elis, 800 m., 30 km OSO v. Zuun-Bajan, 22. VI. 1963, N 21, 2 spec, (with LOPATIN's label " Ch. tefevrei Rtt."). Chrysochus goniostoma Weise, 1889 All specimens, determined by LOPATIN as Ch. chinensis Baly I refer to Ch. gonios toma Weise. I have not seen all the Mongolian specimens, determined by LOPATIN, but in any case, I have studied Nos. 54, 180, 255, 355, 391, 679, 683, 891, 899, 911, 1143 from the Mongolian materials of Dr. KASZAB. This species is very common practically in all the aimaks of Mongolia. The real Ch. chinensis Baly is known only from 2 Mongolian localities, both in South Gobi aimak: 10 km NE mount Onch-Chairchan-Ula, a single specimen, cited by LOPATIN (1975:206) as Ch. cyclo- stoma Weise; somon Bulgan, on sandhills with Nitraria, where I collected beetles and larvae during 3 years (1970-72) in large numbers. It is very interesting, that in the mountain steppes in the vicinity of somon Bulgan, for example in Bajan-Dzagh and Gurvan-Saichan mountains I collected only Ch. goniostoma Weise. Since both species are poorly understood I give below a key for their determination. 1 (2) Mandibles short, left mandible with blunt apex, right mandible without distinct teeth. Claws split inpreapical part, a narrow inner lobe almost as long as outer one (Fig. 1). Elytral subbasal impression deep, usually differs in coloration. Apex of aedeagus rounded, with a small tooth (Fig. 3). Bluish green or green, rarely violaceous blue. Length 10-13 mm Ch. chinensis Baly 2 (1) Mandibles long, left mandible with acute apex, right mandible 3-toothed. Claws split in basal part, a narrow inner lobe much shorter then outer one (Fig. 2). Elytral subbasal impression feeble, usually not differs in coloration. Aedeagus with rather straight sides, its apex not rounded (Fig. 4). Dark blue or violaceous, rarely with greenish or bronzy reflection. Length 8-12 mm Ch. goniostoma Weise Chrysolina aeruginosa Faldermann, 1835 Ch. distans Csiki, 1901 is a new synonym of Ch. aeruginosa Fald. (s. str). Chrysolina discriminata Jacobson, 1901 I have studied the types of Ch. discrim i nata Jacobs, and Ch. infuscipes Weise and found that they are identical, as was already stated by K. MÖHR. Therefore all LOPATIN' s data concerning Ch. infuscipes Weise (1966:234, 1968:212) must be transferred to this species. Crosita kowalewskii kowalewskii Gebler, 1836 Aberrations transitoria, cyaneoviridula and unicolor, described by LOPATIN (1968: 218), are not the subsp. matronula Weise, but the nominate subspecies. Phratora polaris Schneider, 1886 Records of Ph. tibialis Sffr. from Mongolia (LOPATIN, 1971) must be transferred to Ph. polaris Schneid.
