is quite similar to female one, and differing in the following marks: 1. First tergite one-third longer than wide at hind; 2. Tergites 2-3 rather more and longitudinally rugose; 3. n. rec. just postfurcal (supposedly this feature is exceptional); 4. Antenna 41 jointed (antenna of female 36-38 jointed); 5. Thorax almost entirely black. Body 4mm long. - Distribution: a rather rare species, known only its few localities in Germany, Austria, Poland. New to the fauna of Hungary. Locality: Bakonybél, Hajag Mt. , Augusztin tanya, \é. - IX. Opius (Opius) meracus Fischer, 1960 Though the mouth of the exemplar at hand is "open", i.e. a narrow fissure is between clypeus and mandible, it was named by FISCHER, the descriptor of the species in question, as O. meracus; it is well-known that the "closed" mouth is the most important subgeneric character of Opius s. str. Easy to identify as O. (Pendopius) latipes Fi. r2 1. 6 times as long as cuqul. Ocelli, in contradiction with the description (Fischer 1973), small, distance between them nearly twice greater than diameter of an ocellus. - Distribution: Denmark, Germany, Finland, North Italy; everywhere rather sporadic. New to the fauna of Hungary. Localities: Tés, 1 6. Zsombó, lg. - V. Opius (Opiothorax) minusculae Fischer, 1967 Both in original description (FISCHER 1967), and in re-description (FISCHER 1973) some important features of this species are misinterpreted. In a tabular form I give a rectification of the features in respect obtained on the basis of the examination of the holotype and two paratypes (i.e. 3 females). The types were kindly lent to me by M. FISCHER (Wien). Description Types 1. "Mandibeln and der Basis deutlich er- 1. Mandible not strongly broadened basweitert. " ally, i.e. no subtooth below at its base. 2. "Erstes Tergit. . . gleichmässig, fein- 2. First tergite rather granularly and körnig runzelig, matt" (FISCHER 1967). evenly rugo-rugulose. "10' Erstes Tergit nur sehr fein. .. skulptiert"(FISCHER 1973: 441, in key). 3. "... Augen und Schläfen in gemeinsa- 3. Eye and temple (in dorsal view) not mer Flucht gerundet, " evenly rounded, temple rather constricted. 4. "Erstes Tergit nur um ein Viertel län- 4. First tergite rather a third longer than ger als hinten breit, ..." wide at hind (18:14, xlOO). 5. "Bohrer versteckt. " 5. Ovipositor sheath (in lateral view) visible, distinctly shorter than first tergite. My single Hungarian female is identical with the holotype except two features: 1. Antenna 23 (and not 22) jointed; 2. Face and metapleura brownish yellow, propodeum and first tergite brown (on holotype thorax evenly black to brownish black, first tergite blackish brown).Distribution: since its description known only in England. New to the fauna of Hungary. Locality: Keszthely, Büdöskúti völgy, 1 g. - VI. Opius (Misophthora) mischa Fischer, 1968, énovus Up to now known only its female holotype from Mongolia. The male sex p.s similar to the female one. Antenna 25 jointed. The rugosity of first tergite somewhat more expressed.Distribution: Mongolia, new to the fauna of Hungary. Locality: Zsombó, lő'. - V. Remark. - The holotype of this species is deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, (FISCHER, 1968); Hym. Typ. No. 2498. Opius (Misophthora monticola Szépligeti, bona species Opius monticola Szépligeti, 1898, Term. Füz. , 21: 392 (in Hungarian) and 404 (in German), g.
