FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK (SERIES NOVA) XXXII. 1. 1979 P. 11-14 Some new Oribatid mites from Hungary (Acari: Oribatida) By B. M. BAYOUMI (Received January 5, 1978) Abstract: The following three Oribatid species are described hereunder from soil samples collected by the author in Hungarian hornbeam-oak mixed forests: Oppia hungarica sp. n. , Suctobelbella trichosa sp. n. and Zygoribatula zicsii sp. n. Oppia hungarica sp. n. (Fig. 1) Measurements: Length: 224^1, breadth: 104 u. Prodorsum: Rostrum bluntly protruded. Rostral setae long, simple and laterally inserted near base of rostrum. Costulae short, divergent. Lamellar hair simple and situated near tip of costula. Sensillus with a globular head, bearing 6 setae (4 long + 2 short). Tnterbothridial area ornamented with foveolae. Notogaster: Extending anteriorly, in the form of two chitinous laths, to cover base of prodorsum. Notogastral hairs relatively long, simple. Ventral side: Very similar to that characteristic of the genus in all respects. Material examined: Holotypus (427-HO-79): Szendehely, VIII, 1975; 10 ex. paratypes: from the same locality. Holotype and 7 ex. paratypes (427-PO-79) are deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, 3 ex. paratypes in author ' r collection. Remarks: The new species is closely related to Oppia aeoliana Bernini, 1973 and O. hauseri Mahunka, 1974. However, the rostrum in these two species is tripartite, whereas in that of the new one is wholly rounded and protruded. Suctobelbella trichosa sp. n. (Figs. 2-3) Measurements: Length: 178- 184 ^u, breadth: 102-105 u. Prodorsum: Rostrum slightly rounded anteriorly. Laterally it is provided with a large blunt tooth followed by a smaller pointed one. Rostral region longitudinally striated. Fenestrate spot wide, framed by a heavily chitinized ridge. Lamellar protuberances large, anteriorly with an apex. Interlamellar protuberances also large, connected with lamellar ones. Clavus of sensillus smooth, with a pointed tip. Notogaster: Anterior margin with two connected teeth on both sides, inner tooth larger than outer one. Notogastral hairs long, robust, their distal halves bilaterally ciliated.
