FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK (SERIES NOVA) XXXI. 2 1978 P- 179 " 185 The genus Epicriopsis Berlese, 1916 in Hungary (Acarina: Ameroseiidae) By M. M. KANDIL (Revived December 1, 1977i Abstract: Various Hungarian samples were examines, from which two new Epic riopsis species E. baloghi sp.n. and E. hungarica sp.n. are described. An identification key for the females of all known Epicriopsis species is compiled. Studying the Hungarian Phytoseoid mites, the author encountered two species belonging in the genus Epicriopsis , one of the Ameroseiid genera, both proved to be new for science, in addition to the previously known E. horridus, Kramer 1876. The present material was collected in different Hungarian localities but the materials of the two new species were obtained from two definite localities; Balassagyarmat and Bátorliget. It is worth noting that the genus Epicriopsis was established by BERLESE in 1916 and until now 4 species are known to belong here: E. horridus Kramer, 1876 (= E. bérlései Oudemans, 1939), E. mirabilis Willmann, 1956, E. seudus Karg, 1971 and E. rivus Karg, 1971. The two new species are described below. Epicriopsis baloghi sp. n. (Fig. 1) Measurements: Length: 332 u m; width: 244 u m; leg I: 418 u m, leg II: 288 p. m; leg III: 268 p m; leg IV: 318 u m. Dorsal side (Fig. 1 - A,B,C): Dorsal shield entire, ornamented with evenly destributed stellate tubercles and punctures, bearing 17 pairs of setae. Dorsal setae faU into two definite groups, macro- and micro-setae. The first group includes il, i4, 12, 14, Z5, S3, s5, s7, SI and S4, measuring 38 u, 190 u, 200 u, 172 u, 112 p, 136 p, 146 u, 180 u, 186 u, and 192 p. long, respectively, ranging between 3.5 to 7. 6 u in diameter, while the second i2, i3, i5, z2, Z4, si and s2, with 18 u, 40 u, 28 u, 24 u, 18 u, 14 u, and 16 u, in length, respectively, seeming to be only about 1 u in diameter. Seta i2 reaching base of seta i3, seta i3 (40 p m) about 2 times longer than seta i2 (18 u m) and reaching beyond seta i4, seta i5 (28 um) present, reaching base of seta 12. Tectum triangular with a smooth edge. Fixed degit of chelicerae with three subequal teeth, anterior one seems to be slightly larger and spaced than the remaining two, movable degit with very fine irregular denticules. Ventral side (Fig. 2): Tritosternum , relatively with strong base 15 u in length and 10 /1 in width, barbed anterio-laterally, laciniae 23 u long, weak and densely barbed. Sternal shield, transversally subelongate 56 u in length and 76 ^u in width, ornamented with a fine net-
