brownish. Cilia wide, on fore wing brown, with narrow ochreous stripes, on hind wing grey­ish ochreous. The description refers to four specimens (66), two further exemplars exhibit a basically similar yet more expressed design (o , o), of a darker colouration. Irrorated pattern of fore wing not as expressed, transverse stripes vivid or dark brown. Cilia darker, striation hardly discernible. Hind wing as a whole darker and a deeper brown, ciliawith brown striation. Another specimen (oj lighter on the whole, basic colour whitish ochreous, antemedian brown, postmedian light brown, sprinkling sparse. Also hind wing lighter yet somewhat darker than fore wing. Genitalia. 6 : On the whole stout, compact. Valvae narrow, short, medially strongly constricted, to half their width. Vinculum very wide. Uncus squat. Aedoeagus small, cylin­drical, tapering and slightly arcuate, without any distinguishing cornuti (Fig. 2). o.: Bursa copulatrix sacculiform, walls very thin, hardly discernible in slide. Antrum heavily sclerot­ized. Anterior apophyses very short, thick, posterior apophyses long, also thick. Papillae anales elongated, large (Fig. 1). Biology. First stages and foodplant unknown. AU known specimens collected in the second half of June. Distribution. Known from Mongolia. Locus typicus: 100 km W from Ovot Chuural, 1250 m a. s. 1. Specific differences. Owing to its small stature and characteristic coloration, the new species differs immediately from its congeners. The female genitalia are especially charac­teristic.
