Histiostoma rettenmeyerorum sp. n. Measurements. - Length: 125-143 ja, breadth: 86-104 ja. Habitus: Body obovoid in outline. Dorsal surface finely punctate. Dorsal side (Fig. 85): Hairs of propodosoma minute, inner pair originating in front of outer one, latter removed from body margin. Dorsosejugal region broad with aciculate sculpture. Hysterosomal hairs similarly minute. Ventral side (Fig. 87): Gnathosoma (Fig. 86) of a characteristic shape, solenidia extraordinarily long. Apodeme ap. sa. ending freely. Arc of sejugal apodemes bulging forward to a great extent, forming a large bay in the middle, ap. sec. emitted hence, ap. 4-s enclosing an acute angle. Epimeres 1, 3 and 4 with sucking discs of same size. Adhering plate broad of normal development. Legs: Solenidion group of tibiotarsus on leg I (Fig. 89) consisting of 4 members, cj i very short, straight, 5 on ^ e other hand long, much longer than (f 2- Solenidion (O j of leg II (Fig. 88) longer than ^ j. End-hairs of legs III and IV (Fig. 90-91) simple. Material examined: Holotypus: No. 3920: Ecuador; 1 ex. paratype: from the same locality. Holotype: USNM; paratype (210-PA-77): HNHM. Remarks: The newspecies is best characterized by the solenidia of the tibiotarsus on leg I and the shape of gnathosoma. The new species is dedicated with great respect to Dr. C. W. RETTENMEYER and to his wife, Marianna RETTENMEYER who extensively helped her husband in his research work. Histiostoma rimosa sp.n. Measurements. - Length: 156 ja, breadth: 104 ja. Habitus: Body approximately obovoid in outline, though propodosoma comparatively apicate. Surface of notogaster with scattered foveolae of various sizes. Dorsal side (Fig. 92): Frontal part of propodosoma with some irregularly shaped foveolae. Propodosomal hairs similar in construction with those of notogaster: minute; inner pair set in front of outer one. Ventral side (Fig. 93): Infracapitulum of gnathosoma (Fig. 96) oblong. Palpi scarcely separated. Solenidia long. Apodemes developed, but in the middle body their fusion uncertain, difficult to distinguish, ap. sa. ending freely, ap. sec. missing. Epimeres 1, 3 and 4 with well-developed sucking discs, last one larger than those on former two. Adhering plate large, broad occupying entire space behind legs IV. Legs: Adhering hair of leg I (Fig. 94) spatuliform. All four solenidia well developed, difference in length among them small. Solenidion V i only 1. 5 times longer than ^2- °^1 well developed on leg II (Fig. 95), much longer than f \. End-hairs of legs III and IV (Fig. 97, 98) simple, that of latter somewhat longer than former. Material examined: Holotypus: No. 3758: Ecuador; deposited in the USNM. Remarks: The species may best be characterized by the dorsal sculpture, the peculiar course of apodemes and the indistinctness of the latter. This combination of features readily separates the new taxon from all other known congeners. Histiostoma rostrata sp. n. Measurement. - Length: 153 u, breadth: 108 u. Habitus: Body broadest at front corners of hysterosoma. Propodosoma approximately triangular in shape, sides concave, rostral part in front rounded. Surface coarsely punctured. Dorsal side (Fig. 99): Propodosomal hairs: inner pair situated in front of outer one. Dorsosejugal region narrow, sculpture very weak. Hysterosomal hairs short, well discernible.
