Legs: Adhering hair of leg I (Fig. 54) spatuliform. Solenidion t not shorter than either iJj or Solenidion more than twice as long as Solenidion CD ^ of leg II (Fig. 53) very thick, but ^ ^ longer. Tarsi of legs III and IV (Figs. 55-56) with claws and simple end-hairs. Material examined: Holotypus: No. 3758: Ecuador: deposited in the USNM. Remarks: The course of the apodemes well characterize the new species, so similar species is known which at the same time has solenidion £> on leg I with such a great length. Histiostoma diademata sp. n. Measurements. - Length: 172-178 /a, breadth: 112-115yu. Habitus. Discounting apex of propodosoma body approximately ovoid in shape. Surface punctured, propodosoma adorned with irregularly shaped foveolae. Dorsal side (Fig. 57): Propodosoma like an equilateral triangle with rounded apex. Propodosomal surface with a row of foveolae indistinct in outline, set along margin. Hairs regularly placed at an equal distance from margin. Narrow dorsosejugal region with a very fine sculpture. Notogastral hairs minute, scarcely distinguishable. Ventral side (Fig. 59): Infracapitulum of gnathosoma (Fig. 58)short but broad much shorter than tibia of leg I. Palpi small, at their bases infracapitulum constricted. Apodemes strikingly narrow, weakly developed, ap. sa. short, ap. 2 not reaching arc of sejugal apodemes. ap. sec. missing, ap. sp. long, its length before ap. 4 identical with length behind ap. 4. Epimeres 1 and 2 with short, well perceptible longitudinal chitinized lath present. Epimeres 1, 3 and 4 with well developed sucking discs of same size. Adhering disc large, all discs D and Ds clearly perceptible. Legs: Adhering hair of leg I (Fig. 61) spatuliform, that of leg II (Fig. 60) phylliform. Solenidion o of leg I shortest, straight, rigid. iO j much smaller than <f 2- Solenidion u9 ^ of leg II significantly longer than End-hair of leg III (Fig. 62) somewhat thicker but shorter than that of leg IV (Fig. 63). Material examined: Holotypus: No. 3844: Ecuador; 1 ex. paratype: from the same locality. Holotype: USNM; paratype (206-PA77): HNHM. Remarks: The new species comes close to Histiostoma indica (Oudms. , 1911). But it differs from it and from other related species by having chitinized laths on epimeres 1 and 2 and by the peculiar row of foveolae on propodosoma. Histiostoma elzingai sp. n. Measurements. - Length: 130-140 fx, breadth: 90-102 p.. Habitus: Body approximately ellipsis in outline, round in front and behind by similar arc. Surface densely punctate. Dorsal side (Fig. 64): Apex of propodosoma rounded, sides convex throughout. Inner pair of hairs set in front of outer pair. These as well as hysterosomal hairs short, in fact, shorter than tibia of leg I. Ventral side (Fig. 66): Infracapitulum of gnathosoma (Fig. 65) oblong, palpi well separated. Apodemes well developed, ap. sa. ending in front of sejugal apodemes, while ap, 2 reaching them. ap. sec. well discernible. Apodemes of posterior sternal plate robust. Sucking discs on epimeres 1, 3 and 4 of similar size. Adhering plate well developed, all discs D and Ds clearly seen. Legs: Tibiotarsal solenidion group of leg I (Fig. 68) consisting of 4 members. Jj scarcely shorter than ty j and longer than U3 ± or IP 2 . Solenidion <f ± of leg II (Fig. 70) minute, only half as long as \. End-hairs of legs III and IV (Fig. 67, 69) simple. Material examined: Holotypus: No. 3810: Ecuador; 5 paratypes: from the same locality. Holotype: USNM; 3 paratypes (207-PA-77): HNHM; 1 paratype: CR; 1 paratype: MHNG.
