553). - 7 specimens. Zavchan aimak: Uljasutaj, 21. VTII. 1963, leg. A. BOLD.1 specimen (= Silpha (Blitophaga) sericea MROCZKOWSKI nec ZOUBKOFF: Reichenbachia, 7, 1965: 103). Holartic species. Recorded as pest of beet, rape, potatoes and cereals. The holotypus of Blitophaga capitata B. JAK. originated from Irkutsk Region (Sajany) is not found in the collection of the Zoological Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (Leningrad) and therefore it is to be based on the original latin description (Horae Soc. Entom. Ross., 1891, 25: 124-125) in which it is pointed out: "Haec species, Bl. opacae L. affinis est, a qua prothorace breviore, hujus margine antico leviter exciso, capite validiore, antennis crassioribus, articulo 7° sexto et quinto sensim majore transitumque ad clavam quasi formante, articulis autem 8° et 90 aequalibus (in Bl . opaca articulus 8 US nono duplo brevior est) max dignoscitur" . These differences have no species level that is good confirmed by my investigation of the material from Irkutsk Region (the male genitalia were studied as well). For this reasen Blitophaga capitata B. JAK. is reduced to the synonym of B. opaca (L. ) Silpha (Blitophaga) sericea ZOUBK. is indicated by MROCZKOWSKI (1965, Reichenbachia, 7, 11: 103) for Mongolia (Uljasutaj) but this is mistake. The true Blitophaga sericea ZOUBK. (without smooth spots on pronotum) is described from "Turkmenia" (region of Mangyshlak) and is distributed at the deserts of Middle Asia not reaching Mongolia. All investigated by me specimens from Uljasutaj are Blitophaga opaca (L.). MROCZKOWSKI had to do with this species as well. My opinion is confirmed by the report of Dr. Z. KASZAB who wrote that the specimen published by MROCZKOWSKIas B_. seriaca ZOUBK. has the determination abel " capitata B. Jak." 16.
