The fly pupae in average contain 61,4 % raw protein, 9.3 % fat and 11.91 % inorganic matter (MILLER, 1969). According to HAUB (1938) the obtainable (1-2 days old) pupae have a protein loss of 1 % live-weight compared to larvae with final weight, it is obvious that the decrease in weight is mostly due to the consumption of the fat. Fig. 3: The live-weight conditions of house fly larvae (Musca domestica L.) and those of Phormia regina Meig. from the larval stage with final weight to the emergence of imagines (c: average weight expressed in the live-weight percentual value of larvae with final weight) 132
