species. He stated (p. 243) that "The male genitalia of few species are yet known, so that the present paper can only be provisional and no changes in the generic assigments are proposed." For my part, I made slides of all available species and found that the T imomenus species (type-specie s T.oanes BURR, 1900) display a highly characteristic common feature, namely that the metaparameres are extremely thin and acicular, they originate considerably removed from each other, that is, the enclosed genital lobe is very wide, its width attaining at least, or exceeding, the fivefold width of the metaparamere. In the course of comprataive morhological examinations it also appeared, however, that, among the species I investigated, the metaparameres of Timomenus flavocapitatus (SHIRAKI, 1905) and T.nathani SRIVASTAVA, 1969, do not dispose of this highly characteristic feature which I consider of generic importance, and thus I eliminate them from the genus. Unpaired genital lobe of male genitalia of normal width, that is, its apical width not, or merely insignificantly wider than greatest width of metaparameres. Metaparameres swollen, especially median section wide, their apices slitghtly but visibly curved inwards, not acute but rounded. Type-species: Opisthocosmia flavocapitatus SHIRAKI, 1905. Paratimomenus gen . nov . Identification key to the genera Timomenus BURR and Paratimomenus gen.nov. Figs. 33-36. Male genitalis of 33 = Timomenus oanes (BURR, 1900), 34 = T. nevilli (BURR, 1904), 35 = T. lugens (BORMANS, 1894), paratype, 36= T. bicuspis (STAL, 1860), paratype 200
