3 (2) Apical section of virga within paired genital lobe divided, with a paired section. Basal vesiculum strongly swollen, long (Fig. 6). Metaparamere curved but not sigmoid.Incision in antero-median section of paramere shallow, plate not Vshaped, depth of incision reaching at most to base of genital lobe. - Distribution: India, North Bengal angustatus (BURR, 1910) 4 (1) Apical inner and outer teeth of cleft metaparamere about equally long. 5 (6) Outer tooth of metaparamere extremely narrow, as long as inner one, this latter with a slightly elongated and dentate apex. Genital lobe slightly longer than metaparamere, within it basal vesiculum with an adjacent threefold group of recurved virga (Fig. 7). - Distribution: Hong Kong nigriceps (KTRBY, 1891) 6 (5) Outer tooth of metaparamere considerably wider than inner one. Genital lobe considerably longer than metaparamere, within it basal vesiculum dividedbifurcately for a short section. Virga undivided along a long section. Genital lobe with a triangular sclerotized plate with conspicuously dentate external side (Fig. 8). - Distribution: Malaya malayanus (HINCKS, 1957) Haplodiplatys orientális sp.nov. (Figs. 9-13.) Male dark brown, female similar but elytrae lighter. Head strongly flattened, nearly black. Vertex between eyes slightly convex, but its surface flat, behind eyes impressed, its posterior margin arcuately excised, Antennae relatively short: also scapus shorter than frontal section between scapi. Pronotum oval, longer than wide; posterior margin arcuately rounded, unicolorous (Fig. 9). Legs dark brown, shorter; anterior femur about as long as pronotum. Posterior femur considerably shorter than elytra; this latter comparatively long, projecting beyond line of articulation of posterior legs. Also wings projecting beyond middle of abdomen. Last tergite of male visibly widenen, cerci short, their inner margin hirsute (Fig. 10). Posterior margin of last male sternite medially slightly indrawn (Fig. 11). Female abdomen evenly narrowing, cerci small, short, at most finely pubescent (Fig. 12). Male genital organ highly characteristic, its metaparameres distinguishing the species from every known ally (Fig. 13). Paramere oval, comparatively wide, median incision of anterior margin medium deep, but extending between genital lobes; these latter relatively short and wide, paired section of virga appearing beyond a gradually widening section, with an adjacent dentate, sclerotized plate and a smooth, wider plate. Metaparameres narrow, resembling pincers, that is, semicircularly arched in their apical, inner section. Length of body (without cerci) o* 10, 2 - 10, 5; ?: 12, 5-13, 2 mm. Cerci of male: L l-L 2 and female: 1,3-1,5 mm.
