S. Mahunka szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 27/1. (Budapest, 1974)
Geographical distribution: Holotype-monotype female: it was collected in the humus in a bamboo forest, on the southern side of the Kahuzi Mountain, in the Kalehe Territory, by Narcisse LELEUP; the labels are: "Récolté dans l'humus", "I Jl. S .A.C.-Mus. Congo; Ki vu T. Kalehe, ver st S. du Kahuzi. 2850 m; (for. bamb.); l-VIII-1951; N. LELEUP", "Holotype", "Prep, microscopiques N° 6612/121", "PAUL DESSART det. 1973 / Conostigmus 9/(Szeienyides)/ confluens sp.n." Deposited in the collections of Musée Royal de l'Afrique centrale, Tervure, Belgique. Conostigmus (Szelenyides) gusztavi sp. nov. A second specimen belonging to the subgenus Szelenyides exhibits some peculiar characters which incite to consider it specifically different from the preceeding species, although with doubt. HOLOTYPE female. Very like Conostigmus (Szelenyides) confluens sp. nov., except for the following characters. Coloration: Body entirely reddish, except the scutellum, slightly darkened; legs reddish, with darker metatarsi; antennae reddish at the base, becoming progressively more brown up to the apex. Head: Interantennal carina less angulose. Mesosoma: Longitudinal median furrow obsolete, hardly visible, practically absent anteriorly; on the contrary, parapsidal furrows complete, extending from the anterior angles and meeting with each other in front of the common foveola of the axillo-scutellar furrows (fig. 4). Mensurations: Total length notably shorter (1, 810 mm) than by the preceeding species (2,455 mm); lengths of the head, mesosoma and metasoma respectively 325 p, 615 p. and 870 p . Discussions: It is difficult to ascertain whether the differences in length, in coloration and in mesoscutal structure are specific or individual; the study of a more numerous material is requested to bring some light on this problem. MALE unknown. Geographical distribution: Holotype female: "I.R. S.A. C.-Mus. Congo; Ruanda: Forêt Rugege; 2200 m, HI-1951, N.LELEUP", "Holotype", "P.DESSART det. 1973 ( Conos tigmus 9-) ( Szelenyides ) gusztavi sp. n.". This species is dedicated to Dr. GUSZTÁV SZELÉNYI; the type is deposited in the collections of Musée Royal de l'Afrique centrale, Tervuren Belgique.
