FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNG A RICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK (SERIES NOVA) XXVI. 2. 1973. p. 357-362 Sphaerocerids from Balearic Islands and Finland (Diptera : Sphaeroceridae) By L. PAPP (Received: 26 January, 1973) Abstract. - Data of 19 Sphaerocerids from Finland, and of 16 species from the Baléares; this latter material represents the first data of the islands, important also for a better knowledge of the area of several species. The data from Finland are also very intersiting. The Palaearctlc sphaerocerid collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum was greatly enriched by the collections of Dr. F. MIHÁLYI in Finland (3-29. July 1967) and those of Mrs. L. MAHUNKA and Dr. S.MAHUNKA in the Balearic Islands (May 1972). The pinned Finnish material is less numerous (90 ex.), but it contains many species. The Finnish fauna of Sphaeroceridae became well-known by W.HACKMAH's works (1963, 1965, 1967, etc.) but the data below give remarkable addition to the knowledge of some Finnish species. On the labels the north latitude of the localities are also given; these, the date of year and the collector's name are omitted in the list below. The worth of the material from the Balearic Islands is enhanced by the fact that these are the first data on the Balearic sphaerocerid fauna. Besides, they are also very interesting to gain further information to the distribution of many species. The Balearic mate357
