A Report on the Collecting of the Second Expedition By Dr. J. Papp and Dr. S. Horvatovich Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest Within the scope of the inter-state Agreement signed between the Korean Academy of Sciences and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences it was made possible - like in 1970 /MAHUHKA - STEIHMAHH 1971/ - that research workers of the Hungarian Hat ural History Museum make zoological collectings in the Korean People* s Republic Authorities drew up a plan spread over several years ahead in which at least one collecting trip be realized in every season of the year. The one in 1970 was done during May-June /spring-early summer/. Our trip in 1971 was planned for August and September, i.e. at the end of monsoon and in the post-monsoon dry and warm season. On the 2nd of August, 1971 we boarded a plane in Budapest and touching Moscow-Omsk-Irkutsk reached Pyongyan the capital of the Korean People's Republic on the following day. We spent 43 days in this Par Eastern country. The following dates and localities show the span Of time and place where we were accomodated during our stayt Pyongyan 3-21 August, Hyesan and Sam-ziyan /near the Chinese-Korean border/ 23-29 August, Pyongyan 31 August to 7 September, *Kaesong 8-12 September, Pyongyan 13-15 September /the 22nd o'f August was taken up by travelling from Pyongyan to Hyesan, -'while on the 30th of August we travelled back from Hyesan "the capital/ /see Map 1/ .
