Papp Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest On 15 August, I966, an Aphrastobracon antefurcalis /SZÉPL./ female specimen was captured in a light trap near Rijeka,Yugoslavia,, Hitherto this species was known only from the Cameroons, West Central Africa. This is the first report of the occurrence of an Aphrastobracon species in Europe,, Presumably this interesting Ethiopian braconid species was introduced to the environment of Rijeka by a ship cargo from West Africa. The 29 Aph rastobracon species are distributed in the Palearctic Region /1 species/, in the Oriental Region /8 species/, in the Notogaea /6 species/, and in the Ethiopian Region /14 species//3ALTAZAR I963, TOBIAS 1968, WATANABE 1950/. TOBIAS /1968/ was the first who have reported a new Aphraatobracon species / A. jacobsoni TOB./ from Kasakhstan /Soviet Middle Asia/. Furthermore when I visited the Zoological Institute in Leningrad I saw an Aphrastobracon specimen /being aeen aa a new apeciea/ caught by the Soviet-Mongol Zoological Expedition to Mongolia in 196719680 According to TOBIAS the genua Aphraatobracon ia considered as a tertiary tropic relict in the fauna of Middle Asia.
