Endrődy-Younga, Budapest Since April 1965, I have been working in Ghana as an entomolo­gist with the Crops Research Institute (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research). The prograram of the Institute's Ento­mology Section is directed primarily towards studies relating to the bionomics and control of insects of economic importance. But this long period spent in Ghana has also provided an excel­lent opportunity for faunistical collecting, and it is hoped that the collected material will be a useful contribution to the entomological exploration of the country. The collection has been greatly enriched by the help of my wife, who has par­ticipated enthusiastically in the collecting and preserving of the material. The light traps at Banda-Nkwanta, Bui and Kwadaso have been operated (except for the selection of the material) by the assistants of the Entomology Section, and thanks are due also to Mr. F.R. ALLISON for some of the collection included in the diary. Mr. BEN KOWFTE is responsible for the neat mounting of moths for the Institute's collection. As most of the collecting work has been done during free after­noon hours or on holidays, no precise programm could be pre­pared beforehand. The locality, time and method had to be ad­justed to the given opportunity. Though the collections have
