21. Kibi: Central region N. 6.10, W. 0.34, Alt.: 900 ft (274 m). Semideciduous forest zone. On both sides of the Bunsu-Accra road the mountainous ran­ges rise to quite considerable heights. In some valleys of the Atewa range (north-west of the road), in rainforest conditions, there are hidden groups of fern trees (Cyathea camerooniana HOOK, and C. manniana HOOK). The sifted ma­terial of Kibi comes from the dark and very moist biotope of such a fern tree group, the decaying leaves of the trees having been sifted. 22. Kintampo: Brong-Ahafo region N. 8.03, W. 1.44, Alt.: 1,223 ft (372 m). Northern woody savanna zone . A visit was made to the small Pullner falls in the valley of the Oyoko river. The waterfall is in the narrow but rather tall gallery forest of the river. The sifting was made in the spray zone of the waterfall, from the forest compost collected between the rocks. 23. Komenda: Central region N. 5.03, W. 1.30, Alt.: 0-30 ft (0-10 m). Coastal savanna and strand zone. One of the two centres of sugar production in Ghana. large areas are covered by sugar cane on both sides of the Accra­Takoradi road down to the strand zone, where the factory has been erected. Only a few collections have been made on the plantation and on fallen coconut trees.
