fauna of the marshy-meadow in Bátorliget consists of mainly lowland, eremophilous elements living in the surrounding warm and dry, sandy areas, while, the fauna of the surroundings of Tapolca brook includes numerous hylophilous, mid-mountainous taxa. Based on the above establishment it seems probable that the sphecoid fauna of the marshy-meadows is influenced mainly by the conditions of the surroundings. The animals find abundant food on the blooming plants of the moorland but dig their nests in the surrounding dry and warm areas. At the same time the abundant food-plants growing in the region of the marshy-meadow render the development of a rich sphecoid fauna possible. The absence of the genera with Mediterranean ( Sphex , Stizus , Dinetus , hiris , Palarus , Pison , Belomicrus ) and boreo-alpine or boreo-mountainous ( Dolichurus , Nitela , Ampulex ) features, respectively, is characteristic of the fauna of Tapolca brook. At the same time, it is also typical that the mainly hylophilous, forest, hilly or mid-mountainous species of the genera Gorytes are represented in the fauna of the brook in great numbers, as a matter of fact, 13 of the 17 mainly mid-mountainous, hylophilous species of genera Ectemnius inhabiting Hungary were collected in the vicinity of the brook as well. The most interesting element in the sphecoid fauna of the brook is Passa loecus clypealis . This species was previously regarded as a boreal element while based on data originating from Hungary (see BENEDEK, 1966) it seems probable taht this animal is, -in reality, a mountainous species, however, it may inhabit cool and wet marshy or moorland areas, too.
