Key to subfamilies* 1 /8/ Anterior femora compressed, carinate above. 2/3/ Frontal costa forked between the ocelly, the rami strongly divergent forming a frontal scutellum Cladonotinae subfam.nov. 3 /2/ Frontal costa furcillate, but the rami diverge only a little or moderately forward, or parallel, very frequently separate'd only in a slight degree by a sulcus. 4 /7/ Pronotum truncate anteriorly, posterior angles of the . lateral lobes more or less laminately produced outwards, acute,or posteriorly obliquely truncate, rarely turned down . 5 /6/ Posterior angles of lateral lobes of pronotum acute produced outwards; the first articles of the posterior tarsi distinctly longer than the third, posterior tibiae strongly ampliated toward the apices, very frequently not or sparingly spinose Scelimeninae subfam.nov. 6 /5/ Posterior angles of the lateral lobes of pronotum little produced outwards, obliquely truncate bihind, very rarely acute-spinose ; first and third articles of the posterior tarsi nearly equal in length Metrodorinae subfam.nov. 7 /4/ Pronotum truncate anteriorly, rarely angulate-produced;posterior angles of the lateral lobes turned down, more or less rounded, not at all obliquely truncate; third articles of the posterior tarsi shorter than the first Tetriginae subfam.nov. All systematical categories, namely sections, groups, tribes, etc., described in earlier works within the family were designated here as subfamilies, due to their being in our opinion more correct , and also for the sake of an easier exposition.
