The abundancy of Necrophorus humator Goeze of the floor 2 th level is 4 specimens/ 1200 m on the 25 May. In the case of getting a decimal fraction below one-fifth, I rounded down and in the opposite case I rounded up. And where I had no data, especially in the columns of „ transmigrât ion" and „recapture" , I was prevented to set up the proportion. Practically, this means that there were not enough marked specimens to be recaught on the next survey. It is therefore logical, on the basis of natural conditions and quantitative relations, that the value of abundance increases the higher the number of recaught specimens /b/ is as related to those marked on the previous occasion /a/ or the number of the marked ones caught on the same day /B/jbut it decreases if the number of those marked on the previous occasion /a/ is high as related to the recaught /b/ ones. Contrarily, it decreases, if the number of the specimens marked formerly is large as proportioned to the number of the recaught ones. There is some contradiction in this, since the high number of the unmarked specimens is a diminishing factor for the next day's survey. This controversy will, however, disappear as soon as the phenomenon will regard dinamically, the semaphoronts move about in space; a certain proportion of the marked specimens leaves the area in a varying ratio. The contradiction will mathematically be dissolved if the several values /a, b, B/ OE 'Hate within more or less small intervals, that is to say, the curve of the graph is approximately horizontal /the rises and falls equalize each other. However we may regard as sources of fault the following cases. 1/ There might have remained marked and unmarked specimens within the square without falling intu the tins. 2/ The same specimen might have réitératedly arrived at the same food. 3/ The same specimens night have left and later gotten hack into the sane square.
